It is my understanding that Pau Gasol has been traded to the Lakers. Its also my understanding that this was deal that he wanted make.  My concern is why are we keeping tabs on Pau, he is a Laker now. The Lakers are in the playoffs not the Grizzlies. I could see keeping tabs if Pau played for U of M or if he graduated from one of the local high schools, but he's not even from this country. Isn't it amazing how his skills have increased since being traded.  In short, I really don't see why its necessary to flash his Laker stats after every game, once again, he is a Laker.

Fugg Pau.
He hustling hard in LA.
Was our franchise player, but couldn't win a playoff game, let alone carry the franchise.
It's so easy for me to forget him. What about his memory is worth holding on to? Yeah. I'm with you. Whoever is in the news/video room making the decisions, thinking that Pau's every move deserves special mention needs his authority revoked.

Guys-

People remain focused on Pau, because like it or not, he was the cornerstone of Grizzlies. And their most valuable asset. And one that was traded for a bargain basement price. And most fans are still ticked that the team got nothing in return from that trade.

People see his success and wonder why it couldn't be duplicated here- which is easy to answer. The Grizz don't have anyone like Kobe Bryant.

The big knock on Pau was that he wasn't a superstar, which I'll agree with. But put him with a superstar, and he's what he's always been, which is a very good NBA player.

I will argue too that his skills haven't increased at all in LA. Take a look back at his numbers in Memphis, he was a 20-10 player just about every year. And he can share the rock unlike most big men. How many guys like that are there in the NBA? Not many I promise you.

Thanks for blogging....

That could very well be true. My point is, why do we have to hear or read about his stats after every game. You said yourself that he is not a superstar and I definately agree with that. Also what I am referring to is the ticker that flashes across the screen on Good Morning Memphis. I would rather hear about James Posey's stats, he was with a championship team in Miami and could be with another one in Boston. Bottom line Pau Gasol is no longer a Grizzly, how about we now focus our effort on finding a number one draft pick since we once again have one of the worst records in the NBA.

No doubt. Pau was good. But a time comes when we should get off his nuts. Retire his jock strap. The continued pub makes me hallucinate that Pau is still contributing significantly to the betterment of the local community. That catcouldn't pack his bags fast enough to get out of here. It wasn't any secret that he wanted to be traded. So. All I'm saying is tear down his shrine. Don't even mention that dude on a slow news day. In the M-Town playing like the 7 foot softy, On the West Coast playing like he Scottie Pippen. Marshmallow Gasol. I'm hatin' on Pau. like I said.

Fugg Pau.
