Obama vs. Clinton.....
who do you think will run against mccain in november in the presidential election '08?
so lets see,if the memphis city school gig doesn't pan out and it falls through then willie will decide to keep his job as mayor and this stepping down business in july will all be a false alarm? in my honest opinion i think he'll be staying put as mayor.as soon as the school board looks at the reasons he stepped out on his last tenure they'll respectfully says thanks but no thanks leaving him no choice but to stick to the job at hand.
Is There Something Fishy With Herenton's Sudden Resignation.....
what do you think? there are plenty of rumors floating around as to why he suddenly resigned.some have said a missing garage at the fed ex forum worth millions.some say the FBI is hot on his trail.some say he was caught in the act of doing something immoral and was given the option to resign quietly in return for nothing being said.some say he was paid millions under the table by rich businessmen to go away.some say he did nothing wrong and just wants fresh challenges such as the school superintendent......
The Tennessee state legislature may force the state lottery to return to using numbered balls to select winners for the Cash 3 and Cash 4 games.
Legislative leaders have expressed concern about the lottery's switch to computerized drawings, especially after a computer glitch last year.
Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, and Rep. Jason Mumpower, R-Bristol, the House's minority leader, have filed bills to require the lottery to use numbered balls, not computers, to draw winning numbers.
House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh, D-Covington, and Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, R-Blountville, back the effort.
"If the balls dropping gives the people a better comfort level that it's being run right, then I think that's where we ought to go," Naifeh said last week. He's not convinced by the lottery's argument that it would cost $5.5 million to return to the pingpong ball drawings. "I don't understand that," Naifeh said.
The lottery's random-number-generating computers malfunctioned last summer, rendering them incapable of drawing repeating digits as winners in the Cash 3 and Cash 4 games. The problem wasn't discovered for several weeks.
Gov. Phil Bredesen told The Tennessean on Friday that he won't resist efforts by the legislature to return to numbered balls for lottery drawings, although he believes public confidence remains high in the computerized system.
i haven't posted lately.but when i read about danny almador here in the mid south being charged with the beating and shaking death of a child i had to.i hope they get a hold of this sorry excuse for a human in jail and rip him to shreds.you know what they do to people like you in jail danny? if i caught him on the streets i'd beat his BLEEP senseless.then they could call it 'justifiable beatdown'. now i can go on with my day but the memory of this won't leave anytime soon.
the crime rate is rising again throughout america for the first time in a long while.most of these newer crime statistics show young high school age kids are committing a lot of the crimes now like burglary, assault, rape and murder.there are a new breed of young criminal coming along who don't have a conscience,no mercy and prey on the helpless, defenseless, women and elderly alike.why? because if they see a grown man like me they are scared to get their BLEEP whipped so they go looking for people who can't defend themselves.i;m seeing on the news now where the citizens are fighting back and getting these idiots before they can strike.too much time on hands, laziness, gangbanging and general stupidity seems to be some of the reasons these heathens commit these crimes.maybe being locked up awhile will change their outlook.
1. Memphis, Tenn.: 34%
Researchers have found that residents are aware of the area's obesity problem, currently affecting 34% of its population. Among the causes they blame: high rates of poverty and a culture of Southern hospitality and food that values certain types of dishes--many of them fried--over healthier choices. Memphis actually sits on the western edge of a web of Southern cities along with Birmingham, Ala., and Atlanta, that also landed on our list.
what are you doing for christmas this year?
i'll go shopping for my children gifts and just try to stay warm.probably have a big meal but really don't yet.who knows maybe it'll snow this year for the holidays......

MIAMI -- Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died, a day after he was shot in the leg, said family friend Richard Sharpstein. He said Taylor's father called him around 5:30 a.m. to tell him the news. "His father called and said he was with Christ and he cried and thanked me," said Sharpstein, Taylor's former lawyer. "It's a tremendously sad and unnecessary event. He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans." He said he did not know exactly when Taylor died. Doctors had been encouraged late Monday night when Taylor squeezed a nurse's hand. But Sharpstein said he was told Taylor never regained consciousness after being transported to the hospital and that he wasn't sure how he had squeezed the nurse's hand. "Maybe he was trying to say goodbye or something," Sharpstein said. The 24-year-old Redskins safety was shot early Monday in his home in the upper leg, damaging an artery and causing significant blood loss. Miami-Dade Police were investigating the attack, which came just eight days after an intruder was reported at Taylor's home. Officers were dispatched about 1:45 a.m. Monday after Taylor's girlfriend called 911. Taylor was airlifted to the hospital. Sharpstein said Taylor's girlfriend told him the couple was awakened by loud noises, and Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection. Someone then broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor, Sharpstein said. Taylor's 1-year-old daughter, Jackie, was also in the house at the time, but neither she nor Taylor's girlfriend were injured. "It could have been a possible burglary; it could have been a possible robbery," Miami-Dade Police Lt. Nancy Perez said. "It has not been confirmed as yet." Taylor was shot at the pale yellow house he bought two years ago in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay. Taylor played at the University of Miami, where he was an All-American in 2003, and was also a high school standout in the city. His father, Pedro Taylor, is the police chief of Florida City.

well well well....
the politicians have found themselves a new cash cow.i predicted this way back in 1996 and all my friends laughed at me like i was crazy.it eventually did happen in germantown and collierville.well the good folks here in memphis might be getting those pesky cameras here which if your caught speeding you'll be mailed a traffic fine.these cameras will cause more wrecks.you ask how? well when people notice the light going yellow or red they will slam on their brakes to keep from going through the light and that will cause more problems.i bet they are just licking their chops now in anticipation of all that revenue.....

He bore the last name of one of the most famous families in the Bluff City. But, for North Memphian Joseph Ford that was only by coincidence. So, it came with minimal public recognition when Ford's decomposed body was discovered by a passerby on a bank of the Loosahatchie River in March. But the mysterious circumstances surrounding Ford's death may have begun to unfold with a secretly videotaped encounter with Memphis police officers four years ago.....
the homeless in memphis,tennessee

i would like to comment on the homeless in this city.the streets are getting more violent so its rougher now on the homeless population because now instead of worrying about food and shelter they have to contend with violence.i have an uncle in my family who is homeless by choice.he says he doesn't have to worry about bills and can drink the day away at will.during the winter months he'll find a relative or friend to stay with from december until around march or so every year.i couldn't imagine what its like and wouldn't want to.most of the homeless are either mentally ill, drunks or drug addicts.you'll find the occasional person who falls on hard times here and there and just hit a rough spot in life.all i can say to the homeless is be safe and watch yourself and try to make it through the days and nights peacefully.i don't like the panhandlers and refuse to give them one cent though.if you have two arms and two legs you can work just like me.
