This is the man for President

This was emailed to me and I proudly pass it along:
We should have a nationwide push to write him in for our next president!!!

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk:
Why you ain't,
Where you is,
What he drive,
Where he stay,
Where he work,
Who you be...
And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk.
And then I heard the father talk.
Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of BLEEP coming out of your mouth.
In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living.. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.
The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.
These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what??
And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.
I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.
Where were you when he was 2??
Where were you when he was 12??
Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol??
And where is the father?? Or who is his father?
People putting their clothes on backward: Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?
People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?
Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body? What part of Africa did this come from??
We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that BLEEP, and all of them are in jail.
Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.
We have got to take the neighborhood back.
People used to be ashamed. Today aman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.
We have millionaire football players who cannot read.
We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us.
We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.
We cannot blame the white people any longer.'
Dr. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed.D.

WAY TO GO, BILL !!
It's NOT about color....
It's about behavior!!!
PASS THIS ON AMERICA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michelle's muddling, Teddy's trying.,
but you have to hand it to the old man. He went on about general health care for every body as a right. But he forgot one important person: Mary Jo Kopecne. He wasn't too concerned about her health care, was he?
Michelle's trip home in the back seat with their first daughter, (audible fake sniff, sniff) with Barry looking in the rear view mirror at them thinking of their future.......
then "hey daddy" by the younger looking at him on the screen when he didn't know where he was--St.Louis--oops Kansas City
But then, the summary of the GOPs 1st elephant night will probably be as complimentary, too.

I do find it amusing on this board and others that when someone who has opinions
contrary to the left, those blogs are left without response completely or the bloggers
who posted are ripped to shreds. Other than ex-pat, who has the courtesy to debate with
common sense against the issue most of the time, I personally have found left -bombers
who go after the person. I, myself, did that once here not too long ago. For that, I was
called down and rightfully so. But I also addressed that person's own words. It was the
manner that I addressed that person's words that was not correct. Yet there were
people her who cared enough to point the error of my ways.
So here I go again. You Obama folks, read the posts, educate yourself on this man. See
that it was at Bill Ayers home where he got his political start. He thinks Ayers is a fine
man. That one fact alone is enough to disqualify him for any office.
The issue of killing babies in the womb is horrific. The liberals wail and rant about the
Iraq war and the deaths over there. Yet they ignore the deaths from the Twin Towers and
the deaths from the innocents in the womb. HYPOCRITES. Any of you who call out the
mantra of WOMAN'S CHOICE has taken the murder's bait-hook, line, and sinker to hell.
Before I am finished in this life, I probably will be known as the Old Testament warrior
Deborah who led because Barak was too scared. Do I hope that is prophetic.

Forward to a Friend
Friday Five: Former Abortionist Dr. Bernard Nathanson
by Devon Williams, associate editor
'I know that human life begins at conception.'
Dr. Bernard Nathanson is personally responsible for 75,000 abortions. He is the co-founder of NARAL — the National Abortion Rights Action League — and for years ran the largest abortion clinic in the world.
Today, Nathanson is a leading life advocate and has traveled the world sharing his message through books, documentaries and lectures.
"As a scientist, I know, not believe, know that human life begins at conception," he wrote in his book The Hand of God: A Journey from Death to Life.
Nathanson spoke to CitizenLink about his profound change of heart:
1. How did your journey begin?
In January 1971, I took over directorship of the largest abortion clinic in the Western world. We were doing 120 abortions every day, including Saturday and Sunday. I had 35 doctors working under my direction and 85 nurses, and it was an explosive, enormous place and extremely busy. The revenue in those days was $6 million a year from just doing abortions.
2. How did you go from director of the largest abortion clinic to a leading advocate for life?
In 1973, we began to move to new technology, principally ultrasound, which was revolutionary in our understanding the human fetus and when life begins. As a result of that technology, and others such as electronic fetal-heart monitoring, I began a long, slow process of changing my mind on the subject of inhumanity of the fetus and the ability of our society to protect that humanity. In 1979, I published a book called Aborting America. From there on, I became a regular participant in speaking to pro-life groups around the world, particularly governmental organizations such as the French senate, the Canadian and English parliaments, the Italian government and so on.
3. Tell us about your documentary, The Silent Scream.
In 1984, I became curious about what actually happens during an abortion. So, I prevailed upon a friend of mine who worked at an abortion clinic to put on the abdomen of the women an ultrasound apparatus to give us an ongoing, filmed presentation of what happened during an abortion. That film — The Silent Scream — was viewed more widely than any documentary in history. It is said that President Reagan, when he saw it, cried.
4. With growing scientific documentation of preborn life, how can groups like Planned Parenthood continue to spread a pro-abortion message?
To say that the fetus is just a chunk of tissue is to demean status of the fetus, to deny it dignity and to legitimize a violent act of destruction of another human being. In order to go about this massacre of unborn human beings, the pro-abortion people have to have some semblance of argument which they pervert into demeaning and denying the humanity of life in the womb.
5. What can people do to fight the pro-abortion agenda?
The pregnancy counseling centers where they show The Silent Scream and other ultrasound films are very effective in bringing to women the humanity of the fetus. But largely, the question falls into the political realm. That is (why we) must work to elect pro-life leaders in the Senate, the House of Representatives and in the White House, and assure that whoever's in the White House appoints pro-life judges to the Supreme Court. That’s where we are bound to make the most progress.

Coca-Cola celebrates Ramadan
Company observes Muslim holiday with star, crescent design on cans

Coca-Cola plans to celebrate Ramadan this year by decorating cans with a crescent moon and star – a widely recognized Islamic symbol.
The moon and star can be found on at least 11 flags of Muslim countries, and now it will be featured on packaging in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Morocco, Tunisia and other Islamic countries during the Sept. 1-30 Muslim holiday, blogger Bob McCartney reported.
Coca-Cola's 2008 Ramadan can:
http://worldnetdaily.com/images/ramadancan.jpgCoca-Cola has hired a company named ATTIK to handle packaging, Brand Republic reports. Its Christmas cans are usually decorated with secular-themed images of Santa Claus, but McCartney asked the company whether it planned to introduce Christian symbols as well.
"When I learned the symbol of the Islamic faith will appear on Coca-Cola packaging during Ramadan 2008, I found myself wondering whether or not the Atlanta-based soft drink maker will soon include the Christian cross and Jewish star of David in future holiday packaging designs targeting people of those faiths," he wrote.
In 2006, Coca-Cola released a statement about its recognition of Ramadan.
"In a globalizing world, Ramadan presents an opportunity to showcase the true values of Islam and what it stands for," it said. "Because no other brand is as inclusive as and no other company is as diverse as Coca-Cola, we have a unique opportunity to play a valued role as an international bridge-builder and facilitator of dialogue during Ramadan."
The company's statement also revealed its policy of supporting Muslim employees in their faith.
"In addition to the focus on Ramadan and Eid, the Coca-Cola system has also implemented policies and programs to meet the needs of Muslim employees, such as providing halal food in cafeterias and organizing special prayer rooms at company facilities," it said. "Several bottlers have also funded employee pilgrimage initiatives."
Coca-Cola has not responded to WND's request for comment.

Cops kill free speech at 'gay' event
Christians file suit over orders to remove shirt, stop talking about Bible

Alliance Defense Fund attorneys filed suit against the City of Elmira, N.Y., after police threatened to arrest three Christians if they did not remove a shirt and stop sharing biblical messages during a "gay" pride event at a public park.
John Barnes wore a shirt with the message "Liberated from sin by the blood of Jesus" to the Southern Tier Pride 2008 at Wisner Park – a June 14 event promoted as a celebration of homosexual, bisexual and transgender lifestyles.
According to the complaint filed in a U.S. district court, Elmira police Capt. Michael Marrone ordered Barnes to remove his shirt to prevent a "negative atmosphere" at the event and arouse discomfort in other attendees.
Barnes obeyed the officer and took off his shirt so he could remain at the park without facing arrest.
Another Christian, Julian Raven, carried a Christian newsletter to the event called the Elmira Protestor. Marrone threatened to arrest Raven if he distributed the letter, saying it contained obscene or illegal material, according to the complaint. Raven complied with the order.
Capt. James Wandell and Sgt. Sharon Moyer threatened a third Christian, James DeFerio, with arrest for holding a sign on a public sidewalk adjacent to the park. The sign read: "Thousands of ex-homosexuals have experienced the life-changing love of Jesus Christ" and listed websites for more information about ministry to ex-"gays."
DeFario complied with their demands. However, according to the complaint, officers then told him he was not allowed to talk to anyone at the event about the Bible. Police ordered DeFario to leave the event where Elmira Mayor John Tonello was scheduled to speak about democracy, telling him to cross the street.
Elmira Mayor John Tonello spoke about democracy at the 'gay' pride event.
"Christians shouldn't be discriminated against for expressing their beliefs," ADF Senior Legal Counsel Joel Oster said in a statement. "Police cannot threaten to arrest Christians at a city park for sharing their viewpoint at an event open to the general public. Respecting their free speech rights is not optional."
The men are claiming officers violated their constitutional rights to free speech, free exercise of religion and equal protection under the law. They are requesting a permanent injunction prohibiting police from "arresting them, forcibly removing them, or otherwise restricting their speech in traditional public fora due to the content and viewpoint of such speech, or because of their religious beliefs."
Oster said police harassed the men primarily because of their Christian beliefs.
"Exercising your First Amendment rights is not a crime," Oster said. "Threatening to arrest Christians simply because they have opposing views and choose to exercise their free speech rights at a public place is unconstitutional."

Post "Babyland"
Aug 22, 2008 | 10:58 PM PST
Category:
News
I watched tonight's viewing of "Babyland" with mixed feelings. Of course the babies are the innocents in all things. They ask not to be conceived. Only in the instances brought forth in this show were they beings from irresponsible behaviors, casual sex. One child was 12 when she became pregnant. There was a baby in the Med from a 12 year old. The doctor said that that baby would be one of the least expensive---maybe only about $35,000. Some of them-pointing to the more fragile ones would run half a million.
The woman from Hope Pres. Church talked of the missions works that go on all over the world, yet the needs in her own hometown were great. Her contributions were commendable. The girl, 17, who she mentored, ended with a 7+ pound, healthy baby. The baby daddy was a "thug" as the girl called him. He was 19, and came one time early on, then at the delivery. The next vision of him was in a casket.
Yet, where were the girl's mother/aunts/other family? Why were they not stepping in to make sure the girl got to her pre-natal visits, talk to her about keeping her pants up, talking about paying the hospital bill, etc.? When does self-responsibility come into play?
And then there was Wendi Thomas. As if she has any clue as to what it means to be poor. I doubt there has been one meal she has ever had to miss due to financial difficulties in her entire life. I nearly puked listening to her.
And of course, the Potters field--Babyland...where all the dead poor babies get buried in little pine boxes in mass graves. That was the highlight and sad part of the show. Of course the bodies were just that-dead bodies. Their little souls were in Heaven. But it showed the senselessness of casual, irresponsible sex lined up in that long narrow hole in the ground with the dirt being scraped over them with a backhoe.
And the anger and ire expressed of all this, and not one word of the deliberate killing of babies done every single day. The hypocracy of it all.

WASHINGTON -- Barack Obama has decided on his running mate. He's just not telling who -- yet.
The Democratic presidential nominee-in-waiting is publicly disclosing his choice on his own terms, getting ready to unleash text messages to supporters, perhaps as early as Friday, and present his No. 2 at a massive rally in Illinois on Saturday before a battleground-state tour.
"I've made the selection, that's all you're gonna get," Obama told The Associated Press on a day in which he nonchalantly campaigned with one contender considered to be on his short list, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.
The Illinois senator wouldn't say whether he'd offered the job to his pick or when exactly he would tell the world.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" he told the AP, with a grin.
On the Republican side, GOP officials said late Thursday that John McCain had not settled on a running mate although former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty were under serious consideration. Two officials close to Romney said he had not been offered the job.
It's likely McCain will wait to see who Obama selects before picking his running mate.
The Arizona Republican is expected to announce his choice between the Democratic National Convention that begins Monday and his own GOP coming out party in St. Paul, Minn., that begins Sept. 1. It's possible he could do it on Friday, Aug. 29, the day he turns 72 and also the day after Obama accepts his own nomination in Denver, but no plans are set and he could wait until his own convention week.
Republican and Democratic officials said both candidates were capable of making wild card picks that would surprise their backers. And, although it appeared unlikely, Obama's vanquished rival Hillary Rodham Clinton still could emerge as his No. 2.
One person who had been vetted for the position told The Associated Press there had been no contact from Obama or his campaign about the decision. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Obama campaign asked candidates not to talk about the decision.
The Illinois senator was widely thought to be considering Kaine, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas and Sens. Joe Biden of Delaware and Evan Bayh of Indiana. None of them gave anything away -- at least not in words.
Obama spent part of the day with Kaine, who reportedly told a colleague Wednesday that he believed he was on the short list. West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin said Kaine told him although he hadn't heard anything from the Obama campaign on where he stands at the time, "he really thinks he has a chance at the short straw."
Kaine and Obama met privately with the governor's staff for 15 minutes at a Richmond hotel. Afterward, Kaine said he would let the Obama campaign speak about whether the candidate asked him to be his No. 2. But two people close to Kaine said the governor was still in the dark.
Kaine plans to fly Friday night directly from Virginia to Denver, site of next week's convention, three people with knowledge of the governor's travel plans said. The plans could be changed if Kaine is told he needs to fly to Springfield, Ill., for the Saturday rally instead.
Biden had a family gathering at his home Thursday afternoon, with his wife Jill, niece Missy Owens and son Beau, Delaware's attorney general, coming and going past reporters staked outside.
Sebelius, campaigning for Obama in Iowa, said being mentioned as a potential running mate is something of "an out-of-body experience." She said she would leave the announcement to the campaign.
Bayh worked in his Capitol Hill office and later spent time at his home in Washington. He left wearing shorts and a baseball cap but told reporters outside he had no news to share. "Not tonight, sorry," he said.
Two dark horse candidates appeared out of the running.
Former Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn's spokesman said he would be traveling internationally until Monday, making a Saturday visit to Springfield seem unlikely. And, Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island, a national security expert, was at his home in Jamestown on Thursday. He told an AP reporter that he was not Obama's choice and that he had not been asked for any background information.

Christian Theology Students Forced off Campus by Mob of Islamic Hard-liners

08/22/2008 --
Hundreds of Christian theology students have been living in tents since a mob of angry Muslim neighbors stormed their campus last month wielding bamboo spears and hurling Molotov cocktails.
The incident comes amid growing concern that Indonesia's tradition of religious tolerance is under threat from Islamic hard-liners.
In talks since the attack, the Arastamar Evangelical School of Theology has reluctantly agreed to shut its 20-year-old campus in east Jakarta, accepting an offer this week to move to a small office building on the other side of the Indonesian capital.
"Why should we be forced from our house while our attackers can walk freely?" asked the Rev. Matheus Mangentang, chairman of the 1,400-student school.
The government of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, which relies on the support of Islamic parties in Parliament, is struggling to balance deep Islamic traditions and a secular constitution. With elections coming next April, the government seems unwilling to defend religious minorities, lest it be portrayed as anti-Islamic in what is the world's most populous Muslim-majority country.
The July 25 attack, which injured 18 students, was the culmination of years of simmering tensions between the school and residents of the Kampung Pulo neighborhood.
Senny Manave, a spokesman for the Christian school, said complaints were received from neighbors about prayers and the singing of hymns, which they considered disturbing evangelical activity.
Several neighbors refused to comment, saying they feared that could further strain relations. A prominent banner, signed by scores of people, has been hung over an entrance to the neighborhood.
"We the community of Kampung Pulo demand the campus be closed and dissolved," it says.
The assault began around midnight, when students woke to the crash of stones falling on their dormitory roof as a voice over a loudspeaker at a nearby mosque cried "Allah Akbar," or "God is great" in Arabic.
The unidentified speaker urged residents to rise up against their "unwanted neighbors," said Sairin, the head of campus security, who goes by a single name.
The attack followed a claim that a student had broken into a resident's house, but police dismissed the charge.
Uneasy relations date to 2003, when neighbors began to protest the school's presence. Last year, residents set fire to shelters for construction workers to try to stop the campus from expanding deeper into the neighborhood. Some also questioned the legality of the school's permit.
Christian lawmaker Karol Daniel Kadang accused property speculators of provoking last month's incident to clear the land for more profitable use, after the school refused to sell out.
He also blamed the government for failing to build interfaith relations, which he and others believe are beginning to fray.
"People are still tolerant, but there is a growing suspicion among Muslims of others," said Prof. Franz Magnis-Suseno, a Jesuit priest who has lived in Indonesia for half a century.
He added that the police have failed to prevent both attacks on minorities and the forced closure of Christian churches and nontraditional mosques by mobs incited by radical Muslims.
"The state has some responsibility for this growing intolerance, namely by not upholding the law," he said.
A mob stormed a church service last Sunday in another east Jakarta neighborhood, forcing dozens of Christian worshippers to flee, said Jakarta Police Chief Col. Carlo Tewu. No arrests have been made.
Since being driven from campus, nearly 600 female students have been sleeping under suspended tarps at a nearby scout camp, where they had to dig trenches to keep water out during downpours. Classes are held with megaphones in the sweltering summer heat, under trees or the tarps. A similar number of male students live in a guesthouse. The remainder have returned to their families.
Food, water and school supplies are donated by church groups and community charities.
"We feel like refugees in our own country," said Dessy Nope, 19, a second-year student majoring in education. "How can you study here? I only followed 20 percent of my last lesson. It's difficult to concentrate."
Christians have not been the only targets for Muslim hard-liners, who this year set fire to mosques of a Muslim sect, Ahmadiyah, that they consider heretical.
In June, the government ordered members of the sect to return to mainstream Islam, sparking concern among activists who fear the state is interfering in matters of faith and caving in to the demands of radicals.
"We're living in a country where there are many religions, but the government cannot prevent the actions of fundamentalist groups," said Manave, the school spokesman. "The government cannot protect minorities."

What a shock to find that the elitist Barak H. Obama has a poor relation in Kenya. This is his half-brother, whom he described as having a "round head". Where from all Barak's money has he helped his African brother? Or does he lament and whine that he is not his brother's keeper?

Barack Obama's 'lost' brother found in Kenya
Senator Barack Obama's long lost brother has been tracked down for the first time living in a shanty town in Kenya, reports claimed.

The Italian edition of Vanity Fair said that it had found George Hussein Onyango Obama living in a hut in a ramshackle town of Huruma on the outskirts of Nairobi.
Mr Obama, 26, the youngest of the presidential candidate's half-brothers, spoke for the first time about his life, which could not be more different than that of the Democratic contender.
"No-one knows who I am," he told the magazine, before claiming: "I live here on less than a dollar a month."
According to Italy's Vanity Fair his two metre by three metre shack is decorated with football posters of the Italian football giants AC Milan and Inter, as well as a calendar showing exotic beaches of the world.
Vanity Fair also noted that he had a front page newspaper picture of his famous brother - born of the same father as him, Barack Hussein Obama, but to a different mother, named only as Jael.
He told the magazine: "I live like a recluse, no-one knows I exist."
Embarrassed by his penury, he said that he does not does not mention his famous half-brother in conversation.
"If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed," he said.
For ten years George Obama lived rough. However he now hopes to try to sort his life out by starting a course at a local technical college.
He has only met his famous older brother twice - once when he was just five and the last time in 2006 when Senator Obama was on a tour of East Africa and visited Nairobi.
The Illinois senator mentions his brother in his autobiography, describing him in just one passing paragraph as a "beautiful boy with a rounded head".
Of their second meeting, George Obama said: "It was very brief, we spoke for just a few minutes. It was like meeting a complete stranger."
George added he was no longer in contact with his mother and said:"I have had to learn to live and take what I need.
"Huruma is a tough place, last January during the elections there was rioting and six people were hacked to death. The police don't even arrest you they just shoot you.
"I have seen two of my friends killed. I have scars from defending myself with my fists. I am good with my fists."
It is suprising that no one else posted this article. It is quite an eye opener, but not completely unexpected with the good-old-boy, crony, what can we get out of it mentality. I surely hope from the mayor on down, there is enough information gleaned to put all of them behind bars for any and all corruption and total misuse of public funds for the school nutrition program. :
Retired exec tried to help Memphis City Schools
But after 2 days of sorting out CNC problems, he was fired
By Kristina Goetz (Contact), Memphis Commercial Appeal

For two decades, Karl Birkholz built a career making sure packages made it from one corner of the globe to another overnight.
Last week, it didn't take Memphis City Schools much longer than that to give the former FedEx vice president the boot.
Birkholz, who made a name for himself as a no-nonsense manager in charge of operations and control for the global shipping company, said he was asked to come out of retirement to clean up the district's Central Nutrition Center.

He described its operations as lacking "leadership, direction and accountability."
But two days into the job, he was asked to resign. When Birkholz refused, he was fired.
"I truly thought I could help them," he said. "But I don't think that's what they really wanted. ... It's fixable. The question is, do they want it done? And I really question whether they want it done. They're more concerned with staying out of the newspaper than doing the right thing."
A stinging internal audit released in December revealed more than $4 million in losses and violations of state and federal regulations at the nutrition center.
The troubles at the facility prompted new Supt. Kriner Cash to proclaim no change too extreme to improve the operation. He announced at Monday night's Memphis Board of Education meeting a national search for a new director and his plans to replace people in supporting positions.
He was not available for comment Wednesday about Birkholz's termination.
Sybille Noble, the district's chief contracting officer who recruited Birkholz, said it would be inappropriate to discuss specifics because the termination is a personnel matter. Noble and Birkholz knew each other when they both worked for FedEx.
"It was a purely management decision," Noble said. "He was not a good fit for the operation. The termination was solely because it wasn't a good fit."
During his tour of the facility on Jackson Avenue, Birkholz found an operation that had no work measurements or quality programs. He called security at the facility "pathetic" and the entire system "inept."
"Anybody of my stature and experience would recognize what I recognized," he said. "And I didn't dig for it."
Shortly after the tour an organizational chart given to Birkholz showed him as the new director, but when he returned after a short business trip to Seattle, that title had changed to operations coordinator.
Despite the shift, Birkholz said he thought he could make a difference.
Birkholz said his objective was to change what he saw as the public's perception of the nutrition center: a place where employees stole food, managers were incompetent and white people weren't welcome. Whether any of that was true wasn't the point, he said. If the public perceived the nutrition center that way, it needed to change.
Birkholz made a long list of recommendations, including reviewing all security systems, and investigating whether it was inappropriate for employees to receive free meals.
Birkholz also suggested periodically searching the trunks of employees' vehicles to ensure no one was stealing from the warehouse.
"They have good people down there, but even good people won't do a good job without leadership and direction," he said.
After his second day Birkholz received a phone call from Noble around 8 p.m. She asked for his resignation, saying their relationship would be contentious, he said.
Birkholz was dumbfounded.
"I told her, 'I put my life on hold to help you clean this place up. And you can't give me any more reason than you think we'll have a contentious relationship?'"
Birkholz said he wants citizens to know how their money is being spent.
"The system reeks of improprieties and basic good judgment," he said. "It's not there. When the hell is enough, enough? When is someone going to make a change? It seems like we change people, but we don't change results. Damn it, when is somebody going to wake up and do something?"

There have been multiple posts on the problems of students in Memphis. The behaviors over-all are horrible, at least the ones getting the focus by the media. Shootings, beatings, rapes, stealing, gang incidents, drugs, indecent dressing and sexual in-your-face behaviors in public that are sometimes worse than some evil nightmare.
Many, including myself, have spoken of the need to bring back the Bible, disclipine, tough love, neighborhood schools, walking the beat police and other ideas to try to begin to make a difference for the coming school year.
I finally came across this fine video, again that I would like to share. It costs absolutely nothing but a willingness to look at someone with a sincere and heartfelf meaning to tell them these words:

If an adult would take the time to earnestly say this to a child/teen and spend a few minutes each day with that child/teen, there would be differences seen in positive ways.

This is another sent to me in an email that I wish I could take credit for. This should be the real use of these items:
Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married.
She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.
One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room.
She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a
cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it.
The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom!
When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat.
The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its
strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist
"Miss Beatrice", he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?" pointing to the bowl.
"Oh, yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the Park
a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground.
The directions said to place it on the organ,
keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease.
Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter."

Oh I wish I could say I penned this one!
It was sent by a friend with a great sense of humor, who's daughter just finished her freshman year at college.....
Poem to MOM
My son came home from school one day,
With a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
To put me in my place.
'Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'
It says I need not clean my room,
Don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
Or speak, or what to wear.
I have freedom from religion,
And regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
And I sure don't have to pray.
I can wear earrings if I want,
And pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
Get tattoos from head to toe.
And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
With the marks on my behind.
Don't you ever touch me,
My body's only for my use,
Not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more chi ld abuse.
Don't preach about your morals,
Like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!
Mom, I have these children's rights,
So you can't influence me,
Or I'll call Children's Services Division,
Better known as C.S.D.'
Mom's Reply and Thoughts
Of course my first instinct was
To toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
Made me think a little more.
I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.
Next day I took him shopping
At the local Goodwill Sto re..
I told him, 'Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.
I've called and checked with C.S.D .
Who said they didn't care
If I bought you K-Mart shoes
Instead of those Nike Airs.
I've canceled that appointment
To take your driver's test.
The C.S.D. Is unconcerned
So I'll decide what's best.
I said No time to stop and eat,
Or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
To make your own sack lunch.
Just save the raging appetite,
And wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
A favorite dish of mine.'
He asked 'Can I please rent a movie,
To watch on my VCR?'
'Sorry, but I sold your TV,
For new tires on my car.
I also rented out your room,
You'll take the couch instead.
The C .S.D. Requires
Just a roof over your head.
Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'll choose what we eat.
That allowance that you used to get,
Will buy me something neat.
I'm selling off your jet ski,
Dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!
Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
Instead of C.S.D..?'

A coalition of Hispanic and labor groups in Phoenix accused Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio of racial profiling yesterday, alleging in a federal lawsuit that one of the nation's largest sheriff's departments is violating the civil rights of nonwhite U.S. citizens in seeking to arrest illegal immigrants.
Lawyers for the American Civil Liberties Union and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, which filed the suit, also said the U.S. Justice Department and federal immigration agencies have failed to stop civil rights abuses in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, the state capital.
"As charges of discrimination have mounted, Sheriff Arpaio has only dug in his heels, and the federal government has thus far done nothing to rein him in," said Robin Goldfaden, a lawyer with the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project. "Unfortunately, court intervention is necessary for the Constitution to be upheld."
Capt. Paul Chagolla, a spokesman for the sheriff's department, said a move by the groups to seek class-action status of a case filed in December was "old news." He said the 4,000-employee department would not try a case in the media and would not alter its operations.
"We do not racially profile," Chagolla said. "The sheriff will continue to do his job, and his deputy sheriffs will continue to do their jobs enforcing the law in the state of Arizona."
At issue are a series of sweeps, often conducted in Hispanic neighborhoods, in which sheriff's deputies and volunteers pulled over cars and stopped people on the street in a search for illegal immigrants and criminals. Critics allege the sweeps targeted individuals based on their physical appearance, such as dark skin or ethnicity.
One plaintiff, Manuel Nieto Jr., a U.S. citizen, alleged that he was unlawfully handcuffed in front of customers and neighbors by his family's auto repair shop after police heard him listening to music in Spanish.
"It's not a crime to be Latino or listen to a Spanish-language radio station but you wouldn't know that by the way Sheriff Joe and his posse treat people," Nieto said.
"There's nothing fair or equal about armed deputies pulling people over and treating them differently because of the color of their skin," said Dan Pochoda, the legal director of the ACLU of Arizona.
The lawsuit escalates a battle over immigration enforcement tactics in Arizona that could echo nationally during an election year. Similar lawsuits over the last two years have targeted border sheriffs in El Paso, and in Otero County, N.M., who assigned deputies to check the immigration status of people at checkpoints, during routine traffic stops, or in their homes.
Since signing up for a U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement program in April 2007 that trains local law enforcement agents to enforce immigration laws, Maricopa deputies have found that 14,830 individuals arrested on state charges turned out to be in the country illegally. In the course of other duties, deputies discovered and arrested another 1,145 illegal immigrants, Chagolla said.
But Arpaio, a former D.C. police officer and federal narcotics agent who calls himself "America's toughest sheriff," has also drawn controversy.
Reelected since 1992 through such popular stunts as building a tent city jail with 2,000 inmates in the desert and forcing prisoners to wear pink underwear, he has also drawn criticism from local officials such as the police chief of Mesa and the mayor of Phoenix. In April, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon (D) asked U.S. Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey to launch a federal civil rights investigation, citing the department's "discriminatory harassment, improper stops, searches and arrests" of Hispanic people. The mayor has received no official response, a spokesman said.

By hook or crook, the liberals are going to do whatever they can to get that sheriff out of there because what he does is effective. Right is right. Wrong is wrong.
