Another waste of space............

Good start on this blog. Reports that illuminate are always good for folks. Recalling my first contact with this kind of statistical analysis, I recall the numbers reflecting Black men incarcerate OR in contact with the justice system, like people who are parolled, on probation or under house arrest, or some other alternative correctional situation. In other words, folks with a case. When you throw in those numbers, you find a startling number of young Black men, and even older Black men have been "introduced" to the system. And those numbers might pass the in college number. I hope not. But that's something ABC hopefully included in the report. This is a complex issue with many explanations. But good to see it on the blog. Somebody's thinking.

Oh, and lillady, you may want to be careful quoting info from the JPI, some of their information is contributed, and can be biased. Well, when I really look at it, you say this information is a waste of space, I say you continuing to try and bring down a culture with your negative remarks makes your view a waste of space. You have become a leech on the pimple of the arse of hate, and that is not a good look. Open your eyes, and realize that your stagnate views are in the minority. More of us want, believe and are getting along and respect each other. Each culture has it's own share of issues, so if you want to speak on something, as the Williams Brothers sing the song

Please dont waste any more of your time trying to explain the unexplainable to those who refuse to hear it. Some people get their definition of who and what people are strictly from the media and statistics alone. They never take the time to learn anything personally about the people they are so quick to put a label on. As long as you know the truth, that is all that matters! I don't personally know anyone in prison or been imprisoned and if I did I wouldn't assume that their whole race were prisoners just because the media said so. Each one teach one, and for those who refuse to be taught you simply suffer from lack of knowledge. Move on.
P.S. Thanks for the update Morph but because I never believe the media and don't know any prisoners, but know plenty of college students, I already knew the true statistic.

I'm glad to hear those statistics, but what I think the problem is, the ones who are challenging your blog were not given any references which can make it difficult to go back and compare statistics for themselves, your blog is a good starting point, but is weak in the sense that you didn't give any comparison to older statistics and the feeling of your blog[particularly from the title] is that it has always been the fact that more black men in college than in prison, I think that is good if this is now the case, but perhaps you showed comparison of statistics from 5, 10, 15 years ago and gave a reference as to where you got your statistics you can explain how it is getting better for the african american community rather than giving your blog the feeling of "a conspiracy theory" which makes your writing less reputable... I hope this helps...

This is all I am saying, as the reporter of statistics to this community it is your responsibility to point us in the correct direction. I do not have proof of anything because there is no reference given besides stating the source. I doubt that the others here or myself, want to hunt it down. I attempted to use constructive criticism. I am not challenging the statistics but rather requesting you do the work to find more facts as it has little to no standing right now, and I thought you could.
