Where are the parents of this child. How could they allow her to leave home in that dress? Moreover, why were they not interviewed. The parents are the ones that should be held criminally liable for the entire situation. It borders on child neglect and fulfills the very definition of ignorance. Parents must begin acting like parents. You make the decisions for your children. I don't ask my kids if they are going to church or to school, I make that decision. As long as they live under my roof, I am responsible for them. However, I do allow them to make some decisions. But the final word will come from their mother and me.

The Bible is explicit when it tells us to train up a child in the way he should go.  However, the sad state of affairs today seem to be children training the parents. This situation is part and parcel of  a child  needing the intervention of a sane adult. Sadly, it seems there were none.

#1 - You are correct.
#2 - The parents/guardian should be held accountable.
#3 - The dress was trashy, violated school dress codes and was way too revealing for a prom or for someone her age.
#4 - She obviously has not been taught how to dress or act with class. Otherwise she would not have to have been forcibly removed.
#5 - The school was correct in not allowing her to stay.

Parents are responsible for their children. To allow your child to dress like a hooker is inappropriate and morally wrong. It gives the child the impression that it's okay to trade attention for your body - the girl doesn't understand this yet but what she wore was degrading to her as a person. With lack of parental control she never will understand.

I did not have to view it, I new just what you were talking about, I saw this chick prancing around showing off her Half dress , yeah the prom and it was a designer dress, HA!! Don't think that is something you would wear to a prom, maybe do the cat walk , or street . Now if it was a movie star wearing everyone would be all google eye over it.

There's a part of the problem, as Sonny said "if it was a movie star" these kids want to be the next Brittney, what ever happened to parents telling their kids to be themselves?
I wonder if the reason her parents weren't around is her age? I was 18 when I graduated, just an idea.
My last point is kids today have absolutely no respect for anything including themselves as is obvious by the actions of this girl.

That was not a prom dress. It looked more like something that a street walker would wear. She said that it was custom made, I guess this has a new meaning.

Fly - you may be right about her age. If she's rebellious then what could the parents do short of kicking her out? Still tho - But what about her teaching before she reached that age? Maybe if she had been taught better then she would know that how she was dressed was inappropriate. After watching the video it was obvious that she didn't "get it."

Sonny you're right too - what the kids want to be nowadays is what they are seeing via the media. It's a shame when the person they look up to have the morals of a flea and the dress sense of down and out hooker!

Someone (obviously the parents didn't) needs to teach these girls what self-respect is all about. About the fact that you don't have to use your body to garner attention. That it's okay to use your brains and sense of self-worth to further yourself. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look good but when you do it with no sense of self-worth you're angling for a huge downfall.

Pastor, you did it again. All of you have said it. If that child sees no wrong, her parents are in the wrong, big time.

Yes, I saw this yesterday and my first thought was who let her out of the house like this? She is 18....but I would guess that she is still living at home. I would love to see my daughter try and pull that, she knows better.

She maybe a very intelligent young girl, but her parents have taught her to present herself as so as long as they are letting her out of the house 'scantily clad' (as my mother would say) and with that tattoo on her chest... I think it is safe to assume that her parents aren't to involved.

I noticed the article didn't say anything about parents or who the police released her too.... I would be curious to hear the parents reaction.
