Caring responsible Adults

It's easy to find someone to blame, but that's not going to solve the problem. Cooler heads need to work on solutions. That's the only way to save our children. Okay we all agree that the parents need to control thier children at home, but some are and some are not. This in turns put all of our children in danger. One, identify those at rick children. Two, save all you can by guiding them in a positive direction, but do it as early as possible. Drastic time need drastic measures. Hold both parent responsible. Elementary school could recognize at risk kids, alert DHS, Child Protective Services, or any authority and investigate. Let's find out want is going on the agencies are in place let's utilize them. Stop pointing fingers and do something to solve the problems.

All I am is concerned parent, I'm not blaming anyone. I know we have a problem, and I want to work to help solve it.  We caring responsible adult need to help save our children they are in danger.

I've been watching the news (Fox 13 of course), and it's evident that the problem with our children are getting worst. I'm speaking of the resent school shootings and babies taking guns to school. I know all training should start at home, but let's get real it's not. Not enough man in the homes, poor nurturing from some welfare mom's, children being uses just to get aid. I could go on and on. Truthfully, we and this System are failing our children. We are not geeting them ready to survive in this world the right way. Thier not get discipline at home and we say not to do it at school. They now have not only no hope, but no fear.

Discipline defined: Training of the mental, moral, and physical powers by instuction, control and exercise.  The resent media coverage is evidence of the lack of discipline that our children are getting. It's time for the responsible adults who truly care about our children to have a chance to do something. There are a lot of us out here, we just don't have the resources, but we do have the passion and love for children to do our best to help them make it in these days and time. All I'm able to do is be a positive role model for all the childen I encounter, and mentor the boys I encounter who don't have men in the home. It not enough because so many don't have and will try to hurt those that do.

The key is to open a place where all children can receive the discipline in what they are passionate about, and there is a way to do it. Think about it discuss this I have more to come.

Since the last time I blogged I've noticed in my travels around town. In each area that I passed I saw scores of young people "standing on the corners doing nothing."  Like I've said stopping crime starts small. To help slow down the rising crime statistic we most give all of our young people something creative, and positive to do. They are the future, and guiding now can help them make better choses. Right now thier young mind are idol, and if you don't full them any type of constructive creative disciplines they'll turn to the dark side, and that's not good for any of us.

The sad thing is that some other countries, and U.S. cities who have the capability have programs  for young people to participate in, and they become productive citizens. Some even become leader mover and shakers. I see too many of our children left to do for themselves.  When are we going to wake up and smell the coffee?  We have enough empty buildings that can be utilized as places young people can exercise their intellect on positive, and productive things to do that interests them. Instead of standing around doing nothing.

With My Blog I want to ignite concern adults to band together, and do what will help our children excell in life. I've been watching too long and nothing is being done on a large scale. Memphis is the largest city in Tennessee. The only thing I see more of  is poor role models. Corruption, violence, selfishness, and unproductiveness. Our Leader are too busy fighting over power and money to care about our children, and what happens to them. All I hear from them is, to spend more of our taxes on studies to help fight crime, and put children on curfew. WAKE Y'ALL IT'S NOT WORKING. We need to focus on the small things, THE CHILDREN.  That's who we need to study. They are where our tax dollars need to go, and not in some politicians or consultants pocket never to be seen again. Hire more teacher that can teach after 3:00, and all summer.

There are thing we can do to improve our quality of life. Let us all get together to hear some ideas. I have some, do you!

Everyone know that crime is getting way out of hand. A practical solution seems to be out of reach. Maybe we are reaching to high. With higher tax to hire more police. That may or may not work. I'm from a city in the northeast called Newark, N.J., and one better deterrent to crime was the Police Athletic League ( PAL). They started small with the children. This freed most parents to work and create a better quality life. I'm a product of some programs like that. I'm a part of Memphis and have been for a couple of decades now. I've seen it change, and grow. Right now through out this city is a feeling of hopelessness. There is very little growth in prosperity. Because this city is not supporting it's most precious natural resource. While I lived in N.J. when Memphis was the Musical Mecca. Home of the Memphis Sound, but I found that no one tried to cultivate it. Memphis Music generated at lest 65% of the per capita income at the height of Stax & Hi Records, Not to mention Elvis and his influence.

I guess when Elvis and Otis died so did the music. Oh, it tried to hold on but it was never passed on. When you have a good crop you have to let some of it  go to seed to grow more. Not use it all up thinking that the crop will continue to grow. In the eighties Memphis was starting to attract Hollywood, and  in one year 3 movies were made here (I auditioned for all of them). But, did you know that there was no pool of actors that they were confident in, so they sent to Hollywood for actor to play small character roles, and most of the Memphis actors were background extras. There's not much to do if you are artistic, no where to be nurtured, or to hone your craft. This is a major metropolitian city with no cultural center, or no major professional theatre, (paying union scale).

Now , if it's like that with adult artist what about the chilrden. They are forgotten and left to fin for them selves. One the artist in the community have to get a job in the private sector. They may have a few private students only if mom and dad can afford it .They can not pass their skill to the next generation whom can also benefit from the knowledge , but mom and dad can't afford it. New Orleans, LA. pride themselves of having the home of some of the world greatest artist. Why? The are made to feel that way. they ar encourge to pass on their years, decades, centuries of knowledge. There is a place for artist to grow.

My point is this in order to cut down on crime, save the children set up centers they can go to learn a part of the arts that they like. Not in front always there is so much behind the scenes to do it's unreal. Show them how their talent can earn them a living if the choose. How?  By posting the pay scale for what they like to do. Giving hope to the hopeless. "Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he can eat everyday." This city needs to revive that Memphis Soul. That spirit that made the nation sing, and start small. Start with the children. "I believe the children are our future, taech theem well, and let them lead the way"

Our leader rather waste money on projects that end up becoming worthless ( Mall of Memphis, Mud Island, Light on the Bridge, The Pyramid, & The Million Dollar Boat Dock). Instead of investing in our children. They are the ones who need it. In after school academies, and summer academies that everyone can afford. Let generate money to save the spirit of the citizen of Memphis young and older. You don't have time for crime if your are dong what youlove to do (unless it is committing a crime). I know you can't save everyone, but we can save some.

Father of three children one 23, and two babies 7 & 8. Local vocal artist with Opera Memphis Chorus, I also sing Blues, Memphis Soul, & Dance Music. I love Music and have a passion to perform. I enjoy acting in play, movies when ever or where ever I'm allowed to perform in the business of the arts. I've always liked sharing with children because they are so receptive just as I was, and I never know who'll be the next superstar.
