What does everyone think about these gas prices? Do you think the prices will really get up to 4 - 5 $ during the summer?

no, im sorry to have made that a trick question. Im just curious what others think, because I really dont know what to think...my usband says its not Bush because congress has to approve everythin before Bush can do anything so it wouldnt be just him...he also says that this recession started a while back and it didnt start with bush. it started way back and we just didnt see the affects until now.....

I do agree completly! It's really bad when you have to choose between buying milk for your child and buying gas. I don't think they really care. They are the ones who have it made so why worry.

Seriously, It is just corruption and greed. Search and find the profits the companies like EXXON are making. A few years ago around the time of the war and gas stared to make headlines for the first time the next year EXXON made approximatley 500% increase in profits. That is very huge. There is no shortage or anything it is greed. No, they dont' care about the little people. The powers that be know that yu have to go to work and take your children to school. This country is headed to a facist society. Have and Have nots to put it simply and no inbetween. I wonder what it will be like for mu children. It sacres me. I just try to make the best of it. Anyway do the research and look up theo gas companies profits reported through the news like CNN. Bush being in office was bad for us. He is in the oil business. So, what does that tell you?

$3.213 Valero price at the rack - {{unleaded fuel}}

.398 % Tennessee tax

$.10 Transport costs (per gallon average)

**Add these together to get what the gas stations are paying for unleaded fuel. What did you pay today? Who is making the profit?

I am not sure where every single cent goes however of course the gas station, the transportation to get it there but the bulk of the profir goes to the oil companies. I have learned that businesses such as trucking companies and the major airlines bid and pay for gas years in advance so that they can lock in rates at that time. Therefore if that is true it seems to me that is it really necessary for these businesses to increase their rates now or later when they will actually pay more for the gas they already purchased in advance?

Wal-Mart buys fuel in advance so their pricing shouldn't be changing as much as the Mom and Pop gas station.

Every day Valero, the Memphis refinery, posts new prices. Add .398% Tennessee tax and about a dime/gallon for transport. That's what the gas stations pay. This changes every day - sometimes more.

Check out this link when you want to blame. The Envirofreaks keep up from recovering what we have HERE on our own soil. The attornies and enviroFreaks are the ROOT cause of EVERYthing going up in cost/price!
