Jennifer Hudson is truly destined for stardom. I hope the tragic loss of her family members don’t take her out of the Spotlight. She is so talented and beautiful! I’m praying for Jennifer! I'm impressed with her new album. The girl can blow! And she has a versatile style.

Do away with the IRS and the existing tax code. A flat tax of 15% on purchases does away with income taxes. If you are a consumer, you are a tax payer. The more stuff you buy the more often you pay it. That would be real income for the government from the 45% of Americans who pay no taxes. In addition we would get money from the 12 million illegal aliens, that pay no taxes now. It would put more money in the your pocket, as well as the government, and companies could quit spending 10% of their income to tax preparers.

The richer would spend more money, therefore more tax dollars. You don't want to pay taxes, limit your purchases. A truly fair tax. Think of the money the government would save without the IRS. No audits, no back taxes, no enforcement problems.

Moonbaby,
Your posts differ from morning to evening in scope and reasoning. Perhaps you shouldn't smoke so much weed that it skews your perception. You were one of the very first bloggers after the election to go after Obama with race card comments. You promised to leave and start a new state, yet here you are today, bashing those of us who have been here for several years. I guess I know that you don't practice what you preach. Perhaps you are radical muslim. Get her JQPublix. She's the bad guy!

Then on the other hand, there are people who don't think for themselves, seeking out obscure quotes from people you've never heard of, griping about government, while still collecting a check for a "disability" that stops them from working, but doesn't affect their deer hunting or riding 4 wheelers. Cook,
It's hard for me to get a handle on the real person inside of the cut and paster. I've looked at your response to postings and I find such brainiac phrases as: HA, Good One, Here's One for Ya, Git-r-Done. When you make the occasional eight to nine word sentence structure, it is often filled with "I" or "me". I deduce that you're not really happy and perhaps are going through an identity crisis of sorts. Perhaps its because the best years have passed you by, or you're feeling the shock of closing in on age 60. I wouldn't have to hypothesize, but the real Cook Substance isn't there...only uncredited quotes from some obscure, non-mainstream, "person" that flows on a once or twice per day regime. Tell us who you really are and what you think. It's really hard to tell, based on your scant few words alone.

Axe, Go to the news blogs under Cook's name. He's posted this same blog about ten times. He's running on his record. I think the record has a skip and he's too old to figure it out. I get the impression that he is an equal opportunity blogger. He spreads his message of hate to more than one audience. Haters have to move around. Nobody wants em around for too long.

I learned early on that OldGI wasn't a racist. He defended himself much to ardently and was willing to quit blogging on the political scene to prove his point. Neither democrats nor republicans, liberals or conservatives, will elect our new president. The majority of the American voters will vote their conscious. Some people will love the outcome, others won't. After the election, we will still have each other as blogger friends and we'll go about life, trying as best we can to get by. The socialism has already started with the buyouts. Blaming the next president, for what this president has done is counter-productive. We've got a long way to go to recapture the image that America was the greatest nation on earth. It will take each one of us, doing our part to allow that to happen.

What you are preaching is separatism. Your military records are being accessed over this weekend, by the military you work for. You can expect being questioned next week. You should know, as a soldier, not to print anything like this on a public blog.
He's getting his money from his American majority voters. They send him this money because they believe in what he is doing. You fringe players are only promoting racism and a separatist mindset. Separatists mindsets are why the waring factions are fighting each other in Iraq. Is this what you want for your country?

Much like your candidate, you pass the talking points back and forth amongst yourselves, to pump up the testosterone levels so you can pretend to be flabbergasted over every turn of the election. You can then pretend that Sarah Palin, is something more than she actually is. In the end, Obama will win, because he stayed on message throughout his entire campaign. After the election when you sit around and wonder just who to hold responsible: Remember it was the majority of the American people, a group that you seem to be distancing yourself from.

All's well that ends well. I'm a 55yr. old white man. Up until about five years ago, I was as prejudiced as they come, but in true life it wasn't getting me anywhere. I made a point to myself and my creator, that I would be more accepting, more tolerant, and that I would treat others as they treated me. It isn't easy, but you have to look at the opportunities any segment of society, has and if they aren't the same as you, how they think will be different from you. I try to give most people the benefit of the doubt. However: When it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, poops and eats it, its usually a duck. I'm surrounded by ducks.

You ask me a question, then you start quoting talking points that you've heard from the McFailin campaign. That isn't using your brain, that's reading the headlines. If you want to speak on an intelligent level, then look at his record, post it, and then discuss why you don't think its good enough. You're candidate is failing miserably, so you, like the other "spoons" start to lash out at the other candidates' supporters. You boys need a good presidential candidate like George Wallace. Oh wait, that attitude died out twenty years ago. The real world comes real slow to the south.

I mean no harm, but like many of you I am somewhat opinionated. I don't want to get shot over it, so let me know if you are offended. If I think you have a valid point and I have offended, then I'll step right up for an apology. I've been wrong before and have no problem admitting it when I am. Being white and for change from the status quo, doesn't win a lot of friends, in this blog. Everyone I know that is for Obama, all seem to be right on track with my thought processes. It really boggles my mind, when the McPalin camp tell me their candidate is not only doing a good job, but is winning in the polls, when that information is just a computer tap away. They bleech me out knowing their candidate is tanking. I'm hoping for white flight of a few folks after the election.

I think that this is going to be the most hard hitting hurtful blog that I have ever written.
Jennifer Hudson made her fame the hard way. Her family lived in a down to earth town and lived off themselves and not her money. She was moving the family way to a better life. all but one. The sister's husband.
This goes out to all you women who continue to think that a man who spends years in jail is the same and that his crimes of murdering someone else is not going to harm you!
This is the second criminal that was locked up for a long time, got out of jail and killed the family ( Lester Street Murders). Ladies Please think before you allow a man to return into your home for committing a crime of murder, car jacking, attempted murder, manslaughter. If this person has tasted blood they will kill again.
I am judging today ( God forgive me because I am so hurt) because these woman get men out of jail thinking they have changed. In fact, they are more dangerous. I have some women friends and family members who have to have a man in their lives. Afraid to be alone. Allow this dogs, thugs, and McNasty's to live with them and the children not thinking of the children well being. What is so wrong in not having a man in your lives or just waiting on the right man? No it is okay if he drinks in the house, smoke dope in front of your children, treat you like a turd in front of them, threaten to kill you or harm you. As long as you can say I have a man.
I am tired of seeing babies being murder because they have a stupid parent only thinking about bills and sex. When My dad left my mom focus on us and that's what I did when I became a mom. My sister had this kind of relationship where her ex would threaten to kill my mom and burn down her home. My sister us to say that he just taking but one day he burned down a friends' home. It was by the grace of God it was not my family. My sister pick this "POS" standing in front of my dad's store. he did not have a job and all his family was living and getting welfare living with his mother. My parents could not understand that. One day he tried to kill her. Again, God intervene. The red flags were there but she had to have a man in the house and someone to call. when he left her, he stole al her furniture and she had to start all over. As of today did she learn her lesson, No! and like I told her if you get in trouble again, Don't call me because it could put my children and husband in harm's way.
When Stupid women are like this, you have to look out for yourself and other family members because talking to the one that is in the relationship do not want to believe they have a nut on their hands.
My heart goes out to the Hudson family because no one thought in their right mind that he would hurt someone that bad as to take the lives of three people who Julia and Jennifer loved so much. But this is a wake up call to all these women who continue to follow in this footsteps and marry or bring anyone into your family.. Ladies look at the man's background. He he has been in jail most of his adult life, he has been locked up for a long time, does not have a stable work history, smoking dope in front of your kids, harming you. Get his man out of your life. Even if you have to move... Don't let a dumb relationship lead to the death of your family.

Well who would have guessed it. My very first blog entry would be a more than positive experience. First let me give you my disclaimer. I have no interest now nor will I have any interest in the establishment in which I am writing about. So lets get to it, shall we.
Restaurant: Red Lobster
Location: 8161 Highway 64
Memphis, TN 38133
Phone: (901) 387-0056
Website: www.redlobster.com
My family normally goes out to eat every Sunday after church. One could say that our worship service ends with a meal rather than a prayer. This Sunday was special because it was my oldest son’s birthday. Eight more years and I’ll only have three dinners to pay for, :). We had a party of 30 people, so like any normal man, I sat with the fellas at the bar, and let the women and kids sit in a nice cozy area suitable for the party it contained. I placed my order,
Honey BBQ Shrimp and Chicken
Jumbo shrimp in a creamy honey BBQ sauce over grilled BBQ-rubbed chicken breast and mashed potatoes. Garnished with fresh pico de gallo. 15.99
It was well worth the money. The shrimp were as close to perfection as you could get, and the chicken was prepared as if my Grandmother had cooked it herself. It was tender, moist and glazed with just enough BBQ sauce that didn’t overtake its natural flavoring. Did I mention that it was well worth the money? The tea was made just the way all "self respecting Southerners," like it. And the service was magnificent. We were served by the bartender, Ally. Ally was quick on her feet and keep the glasses full. She greeted us with a smile from the time we sat at the bar, until we left. By the way, the bar was full. The restaurant was clean for the most part, and all of the servers looked as if they had a handle on things. That was my experience, now for the big finale. THE PARTY OF 30!
From what my wife told me the service was great from the beginning to the end. And trust me, if I saw my family coming into my restaurant, I would quit immediately. Oh, they are not bad people, its just the quantity that would scare me. Like I said it was a party of 30. Half of which were children. My wife stated that service was great and their food was THE BOMB! She stated that their server was, "on top of his game."
I would give this restaurant 5 out of 6 Stars.

I was at a comedy concert recently that starred Steve Harvey and Mo Nique. I expected there to be profanity, but it was about the filthiest shows I have seen. Mo Nique even went so far as to talk down teh bible and say it had a "lot of f---ing sh-- in it" and that Heaven can't be real because it is described as having "pearly gates and streets of gold and JC can't afford all that". Now, no matter what you believe, that is pure blasphemy. Harvey's part of the show was not as bad, but it was pretty dirty and after his show he encouraged the audience to make God first" in their lives. He even went so far as to give a testimony as to how God has changed his life. I must say, he was not a good example, at all. I was very disapointed.

Foo Fighters Blast John McCain For Using Their Song
In a story that sounds all too familiar, John McCain has once again angered a group of musicians for his unauthorized use of their music. This time, it’s the Foo Fighters.
The band revealed in a statement how upset they are that John McCain has been using their 1997 hit "My Hero" as his current campaign theme song.
The band writes, "This isn't the first
time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to
get approval or permission from the artist. It's frustrating and
infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people
would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and
intellectual property."
They also add, "The
saddest thing about this is that 'My Hero' was written as a celebration
of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it
appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts
the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song. We hope
that the McCain campaign will do the right thing and stop using our
song — and start asking artists' permission in general."
This isn’t the first time Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain has found himself in trouble for unauthorized use of music. McCain has also angered bands Van Halen and Heart for his use of their songs "Right Now" and "Barracuda", respectively.
The Foo Fighters made headlines in 2004 for their support of Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry. The title of their 2005 record, In Your Honor,
was reportedly inspired by the experience. The band’s website currently
features a note urging people to vote in the coming election in
November.
The band is currently taking a "long break" from touring and recording music and hope to return eventually with a new sense of being.
Any person would know to ask for permission to use a bands
song, Com'on McCain do the right thing and not just take a Bands music
even if it sounds good to yeah. They may be for yeah, but still ask first! Just sayin,
Everyone else wants to post up what they think, so I will too, don't mess with a bands music!

Join me as I co-host the 13th annual Stone Awards at the fabulous New Daisy Theatre on Beale Street, in Memphis, Tn., Saturday October 11th at 7pm. The Stone Awards honors business, community and political leaders you probably know, as well as the best in local entertainment. I am doubly proud to be hosting and to be nominated in the "Broadcaster of the Year" category. Others from Fox-13 who I'm told are nominated are evening anchor Mearl Purvis (past winner), and morning anchor Darcy Thomas. Dee Griffin from channel 24, and Alex Coleman from channel 3 are also nominated. Good luck guys. Local, national and international celebrities have been spotted at the red carpet portion of the day long event, which starts at 2pm. The Actual Awards show doesn't get underway until 7pm. Then there's the after party at ten. So, plan your Saturday. During the awards portion of this event, you will witness one of the best local productions of a theatrical skit in The Run Away Man Goes to Copa Cabanna. There will be a musical tribute to the great Cab Calloway.
There are only 13 awards categories, so the evening will move along quickly. Amazingly, there are a few tickets still available. You can get them at Eel Etc. right across from the New Daisy at 333 Beale. Call them at 522-9291. Or Mike's Dry Cleaning at 1667 E. Raines Rd. Call them at 398-8172.
Tickets are $20 for the awards show only....$35 for the show and the after party. We had a blast last year! For more info, go to
www.stoneawards.org
Come out and recognize some of the stones in our community, who serve as the foundation for what this city and this region will become.
p.s. If I don't win a Stone Award, it will have been nice to have been nominated. And then, I will demand a recount. See you Saturday.

I prayed thirteen (-13-) years ago that if OJ Was not guilty to let him go free ! but if he was guilty i knew that he would not be able to walk around scott free enjoying life to the fulliest
because there is a God who sits high , and looks low, and we may get by, but we will not get away, God said that a man will not prosper that covers his sins, he said that we have to confess our sins in order to be cleansed and for given of them,
looking at his trial i saw evidence of his guilt, and the only reason he got off was those over zealous, predjudiced police that tampered with the evidence, therefore it was not admissible, and i have been watching him every since that thing happened, he has had
no peace, he does not look at all happy, nothing seems to go right, now you bloggers may get irritated with me " but God is not mocked " we are going to reap what we sow !
he said that if we live by the sword that we would die by the sword, i sit here tonight with mixed emotions, because OJ made some unwise choices, he knew that they were watching him, and that they were up-set because he got off scott free, i would have been
very selective of my friends, and i would probably have moved to some remote area, because i would at all times watched my back knowing that i have a lot of haters that probably are just waiting for the opportunity to get me !
oh well he is sixty one (-61-) years old , and he may never in this life time be free again a guilty verdict may carrie a life sentence " bloggers i want to ask you just one question, do you believe that what goes around comes back around"
my late father used to tell us kids that nothing that goes around the devils back that does not come back around the devils stomach! but maybe he is not guilty of murder i pray that he is not.or that robbery either only God knows for sure, may be a another sit -up ?

It was 13 year to the day (October 3, 1995 that O. J Simpson and his dream team pulled off the not guilty verdict of Simpson's wife and her friend Ron Goldman. This trial divided the country in his guilt and innocence.
Simpson vowed he would find the killers of his former wife and yet, looked at bars, golf courses, and other places where a person would enjoy themselves.
He was slapped with a 33. 5 millions civil suit and had his friends and family stash his belongings that he wanted so much.
He had committed the perfect crime and was free, yet greed has no boundaries and that is what he wanted. As the 13 years passed he his dream team died ( Cochran and Kardasshan) and then many of his buddies talked. He became so above the law that he wrote a book about " if" he did the crime of killing his wife. Oh, he was above the law in his book and felt that no one could touch him.
His own friends tried to sell items he hid and stole. Again, this above the law man got his friends involve like he did with the killing of his wife and they went out to help a friend. Strange that this friend never thought about what if he got them in trouble and they were just a stupid to go with him.
This time, he had witnesses and they talk, they turned on him and talked against me. He was in another state.
GUILTY! as he sits behind bars. No money can take the place of freedom. 13 years of Justice finally came. This was God's justice for what he thought was the easy, perfect crime. Yeah I am going to get come outback on this, but the truth is there for the world to see. O. J killed them people and tried to rob the Goldman's. Enough is enough. I am glad this has happen. Now I feel in my heart that Nicole and Ron are at peace after 13 years.

I was driving down 240 the other day behind this truck with a man in it! He had his window rolled down, and was picking his nose...rolling the booger around on his fingers, then flicking them out the window!!! GROSS!! I had my sunroof open, and was hoping one didn't fly in my car!!!
I have found that men have a terrible habit of doing this at redlights, and now while driving on the interstate!!!!

What ever happened to wholesome cartoons? It seems that these days about all that is out there on Saturday mornings is violent occult type cartoons. It is unsettling that cartoons are so full of occult symbols and witchcraft and non-stop violence! I have. a habit of going to bed with my TV on and many times I am awakened on saturday morning by sounds of people and demons fighting or of kids in training to be witches and or wizards........and this seems to be the theme of so many cartoons. Parents, please be aware of what your kids are watching. Sit down with them and pay attention to what is on the TV. I challenge each of you to spend a little time on Saturday and really pay attention to what is being taught to your kids by the shows they watch. You just may be surprised.

Jurors at the trial of OJ Simpson heard a recording of a police
employee claiming officers could finally "get" the American football
star.
The comment, which referred to Simpson's murder acquittal
following a trial in 1995, was made as police examined a hotel room
where Simpson is accused of carrying out a plot involving armed robbery
and kidnap.
A digital recorder, which had been secretly placed in
room, picked up the employee saying: "This is great … California can't
get him … now we'll be able to."
I am watching this and they are really letting us hear some raw taping , they have even went back as far as the killings of his wife and the Bronco. The Bronco was sold for 75,000.00 and is in storage. Very interesting to hear all this. Will he prevail and win this go around with the robbery or are they going to do all they can to get him behind bars??
