POLITICAL BLOG POSTERS

With all the political bloggers now posting

 sensational posts about the character

of the candidate they want to lose,

So you have accomplished you mission:

No one wants to vote for either candidate!

 You guys are GENIUSES!

now integ...hush. I though you were going to talk about the turtle on the fence. don't be talking about places where the sun doesn't shine. as a nurse, those places are not funny. and that's a fact, jack. (borrowed from STRIPES)

Bubbah, I am not a genius. Close, but that doesn't count in horseshoes. And I lost some of that with the stroke and all the anesthesia. They are coming to take me away ha ha, to the funny farm where life is sweet...

Don't mind me, I'm just tired, did way too much today. And this is the very first post I see.

I had a very lively debate with my cousin this morning. She is my daughter's age and is pro O. BUT I AM DEMOCRAT. [As if that is a reason to vote for someone.] "Have you read the platform", I asked. "Well no", she answered. I told her she might want to fill that pretty little head with some facts from both platforms and not vote because the party is Democrat.

I'll be glad when this election is over. I know everyone has their right to blog about whatever they choose, I just wish the political stuff would be posted on the blog that's designated for it.

Integ,
Is that an admission of being a party shill??
I'm not on the fence, I still have a vote and I don't HAVE TO vote for either of those two. I don't LIKE McCain but I don't vote for people based on "liking them". I Like Obama, but, I don't vote for people based on how nice they come off as.
I vote based on facts on the ground, not their mouths, slogans, or phony speaches.
I look at who's pocket they are in, who has owned them, how they've voted, abstained, and been absent from votes., what their personal wealth is concentrated in, how they got it. Hard facts, not character assassination. That's too cheaply bought.

Bubbah,I don't believe that you a man on the fence, but rather one who longs to vote his convictions, and hasn't found either of the mainstream political candidates worthy of your support. I have tremendous respect for you for that, whether I agree with you specific viewpoints or not. I appreciate the common sense that you display in this blog. Preach on, my friend!

I know where Bubbah's coming from, he's trying to get people focused on the facts and issues, and not caught up in partisan rhetoric.

Sorry Bubbah, it's a losing battle because in order to do this you first have to have the knowledge of the difference between the two, and clearly this just isn't the case here.

Knowledge means you had to have a decent education, and the responses and posts speak for themselves (and lest you all think I'm being NYC arrogant, I'm not exempt either).

Joe and Jill SixPack are speaking, and they are saying they don't care about the facts because facts are boring. They're ugly and they reveal the cracks in the exterior of all the candidates.

No, Joe and Jill SixPack want to be entertained by this WWF show they call election campaigning, and the candidates are giving them the show they deserve.

To borrow a note from Palin -- *wink* *wink*

What is sad is that we don't know the candidates any better after the debate.
Who are they?
We can see who has bought them from their responses IF we read between the lines.
The Bad medical lobby has both of them bought.
I hate to say it, (say it ain't so, Joe) but, if we keep fighting global battles based on old world fossil fuel energy policy we are surfing the wrong side of that wave.
We can't go with total deregulation and then bail out the fatcats who wrecked the car. Maybe they bought an insurance policy with special transactions and lost, Maybe this was just a way to get us hamstrung for Britains behalf. Barclays will buy our debt. Who knows?
Seems like our future is being kept close to the shirt and we will be filling the crack and falling through, "the glue that holds America together", gap filler.
Drama.
The debate was a lot of drama, but, it's a familiar sparring match that we teach in school.
Strategy over substance.
That's Entertainment.

Bubbah
some people are politcally astute. I am surprised that ex pat has not studied the issues or platforms regarding this election. The issues have been addressed and Obama's solutions are more feasible that McCain's. You do not want to make the decision to vote for Obama because of reasons I will not discuss. You are on the fence and it has nothing to do with issues and polices but rather because you refuse to accept the man who is intellectually superior to McCain.

Integrity,
I have studied both quite well and know very well the differences. The 'two' I referred to in my post were rhetoric and facts.

The point is that the lower you go in education, the more rhetoric, posturing and appearance matter over substance. Facts take a backseat to looks and soundbites (this is how FoxNews makes it's bread and butter).

Sarah Palin is a classic example. There are many who respond to the visual and perception over the message. The woman does not answer questions. She talks around them just enough to fool a lot of people into thinking she actually answered a question, but when you read her responses on paper they are empty.

Her core audience doesn't read, they watch (if you read the posts of the peanut gallery on this blog they admit this many times), so they'll never 'see' the Sarah Palin we see, only what their mind is conditioned to see and respond to.

I have been saying for a long time to get both the platforms and consider them side by side to get the facts for oneself. The words are there on paper to read, think about, and see if there is value and substance.
After tonight's debate, pat's description of not answering questions goes to Barack. Even Tom Brokaw had a question to which he said would be a yes or no response. Barack came back with rhetoric posturing/speech-making/blame Bush for over 2 minutes. John said "maybe", then said "if I say yes, then...., if I say no, then....."
Again pat's description of Sarah is word for word of Barack; "only what their mind is conditioned to see and respond to." OH HE IS A BROTHER, I HAVE TO VOTE FOR HIM. That is what I was told by a man who holds a high civic office here. I looked at him and told him he was nuts. Barry is no more a brother than I am. He may have dark skin, but that is it. And what a reason to vote for a POTUS. Unbelievable.

Irish,
Among people of color we are all Brothers, whether half-Black, Latino, Asian, Native-American, etc. It's all one struggle.

Jim Crow didn't differentiate between African, African-American, Latino or Carribean, we shouldn't either, for people outside the culture it's a world you don't understand and will never know, but that's a whole other conversation.

Many people of color (both in the US and the world) are sick and tired of the endless parade of white men (and the people like yourself who support them) that feel entitled to the office of president, so you see a solid block of voters behind Obama in support of this.

Part of the problem we have with the world is that it's difficult to sell human rights when you haven't addressed the racism in your own house. Obama being this far in the race for president goes a long way to demonstrating that America walks the walk AND talks the talk.

He may not be the best candidate in history, but he's the best horse running in this race today. All you need is one man to break the trend and it opens the opportunity for all. Of the two candidates he has the best credentials by far.

Well...I have been reading on this Blog for a few days now....I don't see colors...I look at what our Country is suppose to stand for....and that's the 'The Constitution' and it seems no one seems to get that any more...It's all so not right any more in this Country....it's like a 3-Ring Circus....sometimes I want to Laugh and other times I want to cry and then other times I want to not care any more....You know Americans have lost their sense of Truth and Decernment of the Truth and it's alot of because of the Game of Fear that the Government dishes out on us...a few years ago we got our wigs turned around for seeing the Truth about alot of things....Now I know not everyone sees it this way but you'll only know the Truth if you see and hear the Truth about what's going on...and why News Stations do not report the Truth is well another reason...it's too hard to beleive the Truth...cause we've all been conditioned to one way or another from generation to generation....but someones got to tell the Truth and show it....There are other Canidates out there besides the Main two that are debating....it's kinda like everyones saying 'Which of the lesser of two evils am I going to vote for?' People are afraid of Change alright and that's to Vote for the one that doesn't lie and always change their stories every other day to get ones vote....Think ourside the Box for once....check out who else there is....don't have the mind set... 'Well...it's going to be one of those 2 out now for runnin' guess I'll have to vote for one of them' Duuhhh....'that's what's wrong with America now...No
