Yes, everybody got real judgemental, heavy on the "mental", about the lawsuits, didn't they? Sometimes you have to use your brain before your mouth or pen.
Memphis City Schools and the city of Memphis have reached an agreement on school funding that has been approved by the state education commissioner.
Under this proposal, the district will use $57.6 million its reserves to pay off debt to the city. The city will in turn give it back to the district.
In a letter to MCS general counsel Dorsey Hopson, state education commissioner Tim Webb said the transfer would meet the state’s maintenance of effort law, which says local governments can not reduce funding to school systems unless the student population drops. That means the state will not withhold its funding to the school district.
“At this time, the proposal submitted appears to satisfy the maintenance of effort of local funding requirement,” Webb said. “Therefore, the department grants preliminary approval of such proposal pending submission of budget documents and formal action of MCS.”
The city council slashed by $66.2 million its subsidy of the district, which triggered a threat by the state to withhold $423 million in funding. The district sued the city in an effort to recoup the funds.

The Three Pillars of Evil In memphis
I've already posted about the subversion of federal prisoner rehabilitation program dollars as it was posted by a directly related insider of the prisoner rehabilitation program.
I've already posted about MLGW's targeted overcharges targeting poor neighborhoods where people won't fight back, as told by two of their meter readers and two supervisors.
Now I'm posting about MCS as told be a current teacher at MCS. These are the current configuration of the Three Pillars of Evil In Memphis. There may be more pillars appearing soon.
Here's the post:
"MCS is failing miserably, I should know, I am a teacher. If you have not taught in a Memphis City school in the past 10 years- you really have no idea how much trouble our city is in. We are in deep doo-doo- code red.
The school I teach at actually changes the grades that teachers submit for report cards. They CHANGE the grades so that everyone passes. I am serious. This gives the students a free pass to the next grade- for which they are not academically prepared- which will result in failure.
These kids are the ones getting cheated, mostly by their own uneducated and uninvolved parents. Add an administration that does not really are about the well-being of the kids and you have a recipe for a lifetime of misery, Memphis. These kids will be adults soon, criminals soon (if not already), in jail soon.
I have no idea how to fix this mess after years of optimism and trying everything I can to help our city. Dr. Cash cannot fix this. Our city is in a crisis of severe magnitude. Ignore it and you are a fool. Ignorance is not bliss, it is ignorance."
OK, call the lawyers to sue these bozos?

From Letters to the Editor, Commercial Appeal, 28 July 2008
Sometimes it's who you know
The merit of hiring former prisoners to work on fatherhood-healthy marriage programs serving an incarcerated population is supported by best-practice literature. It is a policy I strongly advocated when I was manager of Project REACHH, the original name of the federally funded program at the Shelby County Division of Corrections cited as recently hiring ex-prisoner Michael Hooks Jr. (July 23 article).
However, this is not why Hooks was hired. Like virtually everyone else working on the program at this point, he was hired because he has connections in high places. Look at most of the staff working on Project REACHH today and you will find a blood, friendship or fraternity relationship to Shelby County Mayor A C Wharton; Walter Crews, deputy director of the county's Division of Corrections, or Division of Corrections director Andrew Taber.
As the Corrections Division's grant-funded program manager in 2006, I designed Project REACHH and wrote the proposals that got it funded. I had in mind the needs of Memphis area families and children affected by crime, poverty and incarceration and the interests of the entire community at heart.
However, my intentions were quickly short-circuited into a five-month paid suspension when I objected to the patronage and misrepresentations that followed the funding. I took a job offer in another city early this year and now direct a similar program in five medium- and maximum-security prisons, soon to expand to four more prisons.
Programs for prisoners, their families and their children are sorely needed and can work. They should and could be staffed by former prisoners who have truly transformed their lives and have the qualifications and ability to motivate those still struggling to find the right path.
Unfortunately, in Memphis, misuse of funds, failure to deliver services and other highly inappropriate behavior have taken place under the guise of providing programming.
I am sorry I had any part in this misuse of taxpayer dollars and in the false face that is being placed on a needed and cutting-edge program. As he was in the Tennessee Waltz investigation, though, Hooks is again just the tip of the iceberg.

OK, Memphis and Shelby County knowledgeables,
Answer this:
Exactly what prisoner rehabilitation programs are currently in operation in Memphis and Shelby County by name,
WHO funds them,
WHAT are their statistics of recidivism?
Is there anyone looking to get a better program in the system with power to institute a new program that has much better stats?

Get the "Going Out of Business" signs ready.
Put them up right on the bridge, or that sloppy looking tower with the broken sign.
When our city leaders are busy making plans to save the city without upsetting each other, you can bet they are scared of each belligerent statement made in retaliation that each may utters. By contrast, what the people say is a much cheaper currency. We are the Great OZ, on the wrong side of the curtain of "comfort of the privileged" and we have been ignored.
The reason: We elected them and then ran away when their first "dark move" appeared. Making deals with criminal elements.
Typical, we have a daylight or sunshine law and we the people don't make sure it is enforced. This is a common practice in businesses that bear the moniker of "going out of". ALL businesses that de-evolve into this direction, and there are thousands every year, go out of business.
It's called, "Evolving a Business Around the Comfort of the Staff".
I can make it sound nice, eh?
"A business that cares for the employees more than the customers."
OOOOH, don't you just want to work at that place?
It would be FANTASTIC!
Until the owner runs out of money. Then you'll be looking for a new job.
BUT WAIT!
There is a secondary strategy I've noticed going down that could possibly save the world!
Here it is:
Steal money from the biz and sneak stuff out the door. It could work, right?
Until the place goes out of business and you can't get anymore or you get caught.
Then you're broke again.
WAIT!
There is another strategy!
The owner could mortgage everything he has to try and keep you employed, his house, his kid's education, whatever worth is left in the business, getting him or her so deep in debt that they will never climb out. So now, evolving the business around comfort is destroying the economy, because of the bad debt when the loan is un-payable. Banks can lend on 90 x assets! That should just about cover the bad debt!
But now your money is worthless. Gas, milk, staples will get expensive. Big companies will go out of business causing more people with more problems.
MORE BROKE PEOPLE.
WAIT! There is another strategy!!
You could deal drugs.
Yep, when legal ways of getting paid don't work, do what the greedy do, deal drugs.
Drugs, even the illegal drugs, are controlled by law enforcement, every big-time drug dealer knows this. So if you deal them, you will be required to supply "patsies" for drug busts once in a while. A patsy is someone you think is your friend, but, your going to set him or her up to get busted with a generous amount of illegal drugs to make law enforcement look effective. If you aren't "big-time", you are probably going to be a patsy one day. Your bills will be big to get out of jail, unless you get a public defender, then you will be in jail till your money runs out.
Broke again.
So, now you're broke again, your country's monetary system is worthless, you've been busted, so, forget working, you have no insurance, your utilities are going, now you can't afford to eat or travel.
Let's go back!
THERE IS NO "THING TO DO" THAT WILL SAVE MEMPHIS.
It's already too late for that, but, don't feel bad, it always was.
Memphis is suffering from a chronic lack of integrity that could be fatal if it isn't willing to develop some very soon.
From the people to the leadership, there is no unifying future, no common goal, nothing to draw Memphis together to save it and NO INTEGRITY.
Without it nothing works.
We have a common past, a shared past, but, that is not the future.
It doesn't look as if Memphis is even looking for one. It looks like it is preparing to be buried. It looks like Memphis is constantly looking for the next "fix it" that won't work like a crackhead looks for the next dose.
Rather than create a future that wasn't going to happen without being created, Memphis de-evolved into "blame-storming", rather than plan ahead for future developments that could be seen, Memphis made a lot of city jobs and made them cushy, Rather than serve the purpose Memphis sneaked things out of the store, Rather than hold people accountable Memphis mortgaged it's future through MCS, Rather than straighten those things out Memphis made deals with criminals.
Rather than own up to all this, Memphis leadership feigns being flabbergasted in and at the media at why people are disappointed and begins round 1 of blame-storming for who and why.
The valley of the kings in Egypt is filled with people who gawk and wonder at the empty pyramids there and they say, "what kind of idiocy could have had all this and now it is a dusty lump?"
Here's the kicker: Looking for how and why it broke will not fix it, looking for way to cut costs and make the people pay for their voiced disappointment will not fix anything or make it work. No amount of finger pointing or cost cutting will make it work. To look for something that works, first you have to admit that it isn't working now. We have numbers on paper that spell it all out yet we won't admit the truth for fear of a belligerent lawsuit.
Things that work require an investment, in a common future, that draws all people involved at all levels to willingly perform what is called for to make it work. Once that is done, you will not need cost cutting because things hat work produce results and one of the results that will be produced here is the absence of waste. Budgets will be reduced voluntarily and specifically as required.
ANYBODY WHO CAN GET IT BACK ON TRACK AND MAKE IT WORK CAN BE FORGIVEN.
If we continue this path of stupidity we are on we might as well get the signs ready, heck we're almost there!

Time travelers
Time travelers
We, you and I, are time travelers.
Yes we are. We are exploring an instant in your real life, before birth, this life you know now, and what's after that's over. Tied on a single strand of destiny we travel time together, we are one. You are me and I am you. Everyone gets a turn as everyone to explore all aspects of being. Oppressor and oppressed, blesser and blessed.
In this temporal reality we all share a history. It is not in the moment of right now, the only moment we are alive in. Yes, we are not alive in the past and we are not alive in the future. We are only alive right now. The past we shared we were everyone there too.
Look into someone's eyes and see yourself. It's more than a metaphor.
We travel through time and together we experience our unfolding destiny, together. Right now, we can not experience the past. We can do what works right now. We can choose to do what works in the future, live in reality of, if there is no integrity nothing works, because it is so.
With all that, this is only a blip, smaller than the size of a quark in the star Alderran. It seems like everything on purpose, but, it is not all of the ultimate reality we "be" in.
We are beings. Where does time have anything to do with something that just "Be"?
So now that you know that all there is is right now, what could you do to make your reality of right now work out for your family, right now.
Could you eat together, right now?
Could you play scrabble right now?
Could you call your mother and put your kids on the phone,
Could you go see your grandpa in the old folks home,
Could you put a meal in someone homeless' hands with a note that says "you do matter and you are worth something, people are afraid to show that and share that, it's not you",
Could you mentor a child in your neighborhood,
Could you comfort someone who's parents passed,
Could you teach a child or ten how to garden,
Could you do something good for no reason at all as a regular routine,
Could you sit down and think about what you could do without destroying your own life to make the world a better place and then take action on your plan and have your whole life work out because of it?
You don't have to make a commitment to continue to do anything you don't like doing, but, you'll find that rewarding feeling will really call you into being in the NOW!

The human potential movement
completely passed Memphis TN by.
To this day, there has been no exploration of human potential in Memphis, TN. We live in a fog of what we think is going on and the rumors, superstitions, outright lies by power to the people and all the failures that generated for us that have gone on in the past and on into the future. Though there is a lack of governmental transparency, the lies to us from power have us not even looking at life in a way that we aren't willing to really explore what our true human potential is. If you want to know what that does over time, just look at our statistics.
Was it done on purpose? Is it done on Purpose?
Maybe not, maybe so. It doesn't matter and though unwilling to help, Government is powerless to stop us from exploring our human potential on our own.
For a people so concerned with ourselves, you'd think that some exploration is due.
The problem comes when the acknowledgment of who we've been and what results in our lives we've generated is required, to know who we are/have been in reality. We don't like to look at the truth of ourselves, we like to look at "who we think we've been", as if what we think in our head is reality even when it isn't.
We need to look at what our "successes" have done to people and communities around us. Good effects and /or bad and own the full extent either way it goes.
We like to think about things the same old way and we think we don't.
Lazy thinking, not actually thinking. We get pawned by our own thoughts. We look for "reasons" not to change our way of thinking and when we find them we pat ourselves on the back for "good thinking", then, nothing new happens. But we tried! as if trying is worth something even when we fail.
When we are so right about a position that we have that we begin giving a coworker hell in their job, especially because of an opinion we have, that should be an alarm that we have stopped focusing on making things work and that we have begun sabotaging our own work environment, our own success, our own city. The vicious cycle begins.
In the case of MCS administration, the children of Memphis' futures.
In the case of MLGW, the wallets of the citizens and a very hateful atmosphere in the customer service center.
In the case of Memphis City Government it's property values, dead businesses, race crimes, violent crime, drug trafficking, blight, insurance rates, racially polarized neighborhoods, a huge population of unsuccessfully rehabilitated ex-cons used as pawns, an unending supply of aspiring young inmates to get into the system, a perception by the rest of the world that Memphians are black, racists, uneducated, angry, poor, violent, unwilling to do anything to change.
Fertile ground for anything positive you can think of?
Bet you can't.
I can.
Let's see how you do.

Sadly, our blogs page has become a lot odf sensationalized BLEEP that we are powerless to do anything about. It's the past, not news, and we can't do anything about it. We can't bring the kids back and our opinions or threats towards the perps won't help. We can't stop the war by attacking President Bush. The beat down is over and done, Obama will not switch races, and Scott Maddeus can only be in one place at a time.WE ARE PETTY now.
It's time to concentrate again.
Concentrate on the school system, concentrate on MLGW, concentrate on the corruption.
It must be removed or the plagues will continue, the city will not survive an exodus.
CONCENTRATE. Ethics, Laws, Enforcement, Convictions, Sentences.

I remember when I was a kid, there was a man who beat his wife regularly in front of his kids for many years. His kids were my friends. They ran to our house many times needing emergency help, ambulances, police. Their dad broke their mom's bones, legs, arms, knocked all her teeth out with a shoe, ran over her once, shot at her regularly. It was awful.
When their dad was sober he was great. He took us fishing, went to the jail and bonded out felons, went on hunts to the middle of nowhere for bail jumpers, fun fun fun. Through him, I've met bank robbers and murderers, corrupt police officers who worked for him, corrupt politicians he bought off (some were my relatives), some were presidents (that's right), corrupt judges and governors, and I learned a few things about politicians. I learned that when politicians say they are for something, they are actively working against it covertly, like Al Gore. You can complain about global sky falling all you want, but, is it also OK to aprove the worst polluters in America to continue unabated with no pollution control? They OK'd hundreds of thousands of untreated tons per hour to come out of 3M's smokestacks. They tried to hide the evidence. That point was brought home. That is just one tiny example.
How about the law and order judges and prosecutors allowing certain criminals to get out of jail free? More of the same.
It all had a familiar "family face" on it all. It was family, we all knew each other, we were all friends, it was going to continue as the next generation was being prepped to asume control.
AS A CHILD, I COULD SEE THIS WAS NOT GOING TO WORK OUT INTO THE FUTURE FOR A LOT OF THE VICTIMS OF THE EFFECTS OF THIS SYSTEM AND EVENTUALLY, SOCIETY AS A WHOLE.
DISEASE SPREADS, UNOPPOSED AND UNABATED.
Since I was present and listening astutely, as instructed, I understood early on that this was how the big wheels really turned in politics. It's an inside game for those who know how to work the wheels. It's a very dirty busines. The people involved are very affable, no one would hate them instantly. They can get in with a smile, do you a favor or two, ask for some help and then you are hooked in and hooked up.
The price.
No one thinks of the price, just the benefits, as if they outweigh the future. THAT really is the mantra of the group.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
They never think about who owns all the bushes the birds live in who made the birds.
Get to know the gardner, the servant, the one you think is not listening or hearing you.
Do you think the servant is not astute? You will soon discover who is in control.
For mankind to have a future, mankind must do what works for all, and what works for all time.
There is no possible other way.
You would think that as a father, my friend's dad would have known that.
He died, lost the use of his legs, his wife, the love of his children, his ill-gotten amassed fortune, most of his "friends", and all his influence before he died. He died living in an apartment, in a wheelchair, after owning slums, living with a woman who once worked for him, who constantly plotted how to strip him of his fortune. His last days were hell.
No one profited from his entire life.
His son, once an extremely intelligent honors student, member of the president's physical fitness team, straight A's, multilingual, is now an alcoholic diabetic who beats his wife and works a very demeaning job.
Society is better for how it worked out for that father and all the promise his children had, and they all had promise.
They all have children.
What will they pass on to them?
I wonder if they've ever thought about that question themselves.
Happy Father's Day.

How many of these describe the people you've elected to represent you?
Antisocial Personality Disorder
A common misconception is that antisocial personality disorder refers to people who have poor social skills. The opposite is often the case. Instead, antisocial personality disorder is characterized by a lack of conscience.People with this disorder are prone to criminal behavior, believing that their victims are weak and deserving of being taken advantage of. They tend to lie and steal. Often, they are careless with money and take action without thinking about consequences. They are often agressive and are much more concerned with their own needs than the needs of others.
= FORDS
Histrionic Personality Disorder
People with histrionic personality disorder are constant attention seekers. They need to be the center of attention all the time, often interrupting others in order to dominate the conversation. They use grandiose language to discribe everyday events and seek constant praise. They may dress provacatively or exaggerate illnesses in order to gain attention. They also tend to exaggerate friendships and relationships, believing that everyone loves them. They are often manipulative.
= Ophelia Ford
Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by self-centeredness. Like histrionic disorder, people with this disorder seek attention and praise. They exaggerate their achievements, expecting others to recongize them as being superior. They tend to be choosy about picking friends, since they believe that not just anyone is worthy of being their friend. They tend to make good first impressions, yet have difficulty maintaining long-lasting relationships. They are generally uninterested in the feelings of others and may take advantage of them.
= Dr. Wilie Herenton and the Fords
Paranoid
Paranoid personality disorder is characterized by a distrust of others and a constant suspicion that people around you have sinister motives. People with this disorder tend to have excessive trust in their own knowledge and abilities and usually avoid close relationships with others. They search for hidden meanings in everything and read hostile intentions into the actions of others. They are quick to challenge the loyalties of friends and loved ones and often appear cold and distant to others. They usually shift blame to others and tend to carry long grudges.
= Dr Willie Herento and the Fords
They are a bunch of headcases.
You can't aquiewce to a bully.
You can't make up lies and force them on others as truth.
You can not oppress others.
You can not let others to oppress you and you are required to know who is doing it when it is being done and ACTUALLY be correct.
Just because you can't prove something doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Just because someone couldn't prove you did it in court does not mean you did not do the crime.
You can not do the wrong thing to get the right outcome.

Royalty was like dandelions. No matter how many heads you chopped off, the roots were still there underground, waiting to spring up again.
It seemed to be a chronic disease. It was as if even the most intelligent person had this little blank spot in their heads where someone had written: "Kings. What a good idea." Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees.

I'm the principal.
I am in charge of your children during the day.
I let them run rampant and have sex in school.
I let them partake in lewd behavior at school sanctioned events.
Although they would be kicked out of a nightclub for what I let them do at school, I let them do it anyway.
This is how I make more freaks in the world.
Isn't it important to have more freaks?
By blowing this golden opportunity to show them right behavior and by condoning this lewd behavior now, I will ruin your children's chances of acting responsibly in the future, thus, making more inmates.
This will take your kids years to figure out and by the time your kids figure it out, it wil be too late and they will have a police record and not be able to get a good job.
Too bad for you, your kids, and the future prospects of your family.
When you catch me, I'll say I'm sorry and still get away with it without getting fired by our immoral leadership.
I don't have the sense to step down.
Obviously I will blame it all on the parents.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
