Can the City of Memphis or the State of Tennessee please dedicate just one lane to crazy stupid drivers. I mean, we could just wall this one lane off with cement barriers, and the folks who want to drive like they don't have a clue could just drive in this one lane. If they want to slam into someone or something, they could just drive in this one lane. If they had a wreck, they would be isolated, and only hurt other drivers who couldn't drive.
iT COULD BE called the Aggressive on the Celll phone eatin' while driving an SUV lane....
I don't know, just tired of the crazy drivers out there.

Yesterday morning I went to the scene of an accident where a car rear ended a school bus...or more like the car went up underneath the school bus from behind, more than half of the car was under the school bus from the back end.
Witnesses say the car ran the stop light and slammed into the back of the school bus...fortunately there were no children on board the bus at the time.
I don't get it, HOW DO YOU RUN INTO THE BACK OF A SCHOOL BUS? IT'S BIG AND IT'S YELLOW...So I guess that makes it hard to see?

According to the Human Factors quarterly journal, “Cell phone distraction causes 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries in the United States every year” (2005). The same study reported that motorists who are engaged in cell phone conversations while driving are less capable than drunk drivers with blood alcohol levels exceeding .08.
Something to think about, and I'm sure the stats have gone up as cell phone useage has since 2005.
So if you are going to drive while talking on your cell phone, you might as well drink a few beers first....it's probably just as safe if these stats are right.

I read on one internet website that if you ride a motorcycle you are 34 percent more likely to die or suffer a life threatening injury than a motorists riding in a car. Then, on another website I read that if motorcycle riders all wore DOT approved helmets, motorcycle fatalities and injuries could be reduced by 33 percent.
Check that out...a Helmet makes a difference...

Hurricane Gustav, why should you care?
Having gone to High School in Slidell Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans, when Hurricane Katrina struck three years ago, it was a personal blow, because a lot of my friends were hurt. Some of them did not get out in time and wound up suffering. My friend Miss Edna wound up sleeping in the balcony of her church for 3 nights while the water went down. My Brother's business in New Orleans, wound up getting flooded out, and he was one of the one's who got flooded, and looted and had to rebuild.
I've heard Some people say that those who live on the Coast are stupid for choosing to live with such a threat...but then pause for a second and think...we live on the New Madrid Fault...are we any brighter?
During Katrina we saw the best and worst of people as people stepped up their game to help out, and many scumbags stepped up to take advantage of those who had been hurt. One of the more hurtful things said to me during the whole crisis was that the people on the Coast and in New Orleans deserved what they got. I'm not sure what this means, but the person who said this to me nearly got the only tooth in his head knocked out., the bayou is my other home outside of the Midsouth and I wear my Saints hat proudly.
Just a thought here as Gustav looms on the water. If you can help someone out who runs from the Hurricane do it...please....eventually, it will come back to you.
Other than that, I'll give you another reason to care...if Humanity isn't a reason... 30 percent of America's oil, and refineries are located right where Gustav is headed, South Central Louisiana...so expect your gas prices to rise drastically, and while we can't control things at the pump....we can can control how we treat people.
Peace, Love ya.

When eating out at a BBQ place, wear a red shirt.
When eating something with Ranch Dressing, wear white pants.
Always keep a spork in your glove compartment, you never know when you'll need one.
Keep Handi-wipes, a roll of paper towels, and wet knaps in the trunk at all time, along with a full length bib...you just never know when you'll need them.
If you can't wear blue jeans and flip flops to the place....stay home and grill out.
Enjoy.

Yesterday I'm on the interstate and I'm doing 70 mph in the slow lane, yes, 70 in the slow lane, the fast lane is open. When out of nowhere comes this Nasty pea green Scooby Doo Mystery Mobile lookin' van, and the driver gets right on my bumper and just stays there.
Now, I don't know what his or her problem was, but I was doing 70 in the slow lane, and the fast lane was open and it would have been easy for them to go around, but the idiot decides to just stay on my butt. Yes, the thought of slamming on my brakes crossed my mind.
So, to the idiot driving the Scooby Doo van with Marshall county tags....stay off my bumper, or next time you're going to eat it.

Yesterday I'm driving my pickup truck and there is fool on a motorcycle behind me, it was a cool lookin' cruiser bike, and I got a close look at it, because he was right on my bumper. His girlfriend was ridin' along on the back seat lookin' all happy and carefree, I figured if I hit my brakes just right, she'd fly into the bed of the pickup....I didn't do it, because I didn't want my wife to think someone had been in my bed.
Motorcycle safety experts say to keep your distance, atleast 1 car length for every 10 miles per hour. If you are stopped at a traffic light on a motorcycle. ..., you need to leave 10 feet in front of you and the car in front of you for an escape route in the event the driver behind you doesn't see you.

When Penguins jump into water where there are sharks and other critters like seals THAT want to eat them, one of them has TO be the first penguin in the water. That Penguin is usually dead meat. The other penguins let him go first, and then wait on the results to see if he is gobbled up by a shark or seal.
I am never the first Penguin at intersections in Memphis....when the light turns green, I let the car on either side of me go first. We have so many people who run redlights in this town, I let the other guy be the first penguin, and I let them check the waters...if they get hit, well, I've survived another day.
I'm not going to let that shark or seal get me.
Don't be the first penguin.
