Okay Pro se faces the U.S Court of Appeals

We keep electing this jokers who tell us they can not do anything or help us. We elect them knowing they do little or nothing, holding crimes in criminal office during election... What is wrong with this picture?

We have to become prisoners in our home because they have no control over crime. We have to decide to eat or drive to work because they have no control over they way we live. They say we have to pay taxes on a budget they have no control. then it is not their fault but someone's else.

We elected a president who told us a lie of WMD only to have hundreds of our young men die every day and can not tell us when it ends.. It is not his fault we just have to wait. He lied and said it was over in days as he celebrated, knowing it was just the beginning.

We have become so program in believing that we can not change anything and accept what is within.

It was people like King, Garvey, and not just Blacks but white people who stood hand and hand, stood against bombings, riots, and lynchings so that we can enjoy what small peace we have today. Let's not take this for granted.

We have a mayor who's ideal is grandstanding to the media about his someone out to get me defense from the FBI. We have city council  ( Hooks, Ford) who  can not pay their own light bills as we are having a hard time paying

When I write about things I am not bitter but I am fired up. I have been lazy and the corruption came upon me. I am fighting not because I have lost something, it is to prevent others from doing the same. I am not going to be afraid and pray to God. one has to give.

I use to think that it could not happen to me if I take preventive measures. It is not so.

With this  election if your family is not enduring anything then Be Thankful. But as you ask God for thanks, go outside and look at your neighbor's house and think, it could be him or the person up the street, the mailman, or even someone that on the next block. We need to expect accountability when we elect people in office who do little or nothing. We need to take into account the services that is for us if we ever need them.

It took me to lose everything I work so hard for to help my fellow man. I had to program myself to look into myself and others and say, Tennessee needs to protect me better than this. You should be saying the same.

I agree with most of this post. You really should do a lot of research before drawing any conclusions about the UN or not finding WMDs. Also, hundreds of our men do not die everyday in the war. Men die, but, not by the hundreds. Low teens if that many and not every day.
Your point was valid witout the exaggeration and still is. Normally your info is all good, don't turn yourself into a person whose info can't be trusted by your own hand.
You are too good for that.

okay, you may not have voted for him, like I did not vote for "I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton, but one was and one is the President of the United States. And in holding that office, they were/are mine and yours. (btw, I have put a positive comment for Nikki in the CA). Unless you move out of this country and denounce your citizenship, the person who holds that office is your president. And like Bubbah said, with my emphasis, YOU ARE TOO GOOD FOR THAT.
The weapons are there, biological, military, nuclear. They are too good at hiding. It's like saying, "tomorrow we will have a pop quiz". Simplistic? yes, but correct.
There is so much I disagree with about Bush. But I am SO THANKFUL the Goran did not get in. God in His Heaven saved us from that man in some aspects. Unfortunately, he hypocrcises with every movement he makes, how he lives, his entire life. I am ashamed he is a Tennessean. Check out Bush's home in Texas and how energy efficient it is. It is no mansion, either.
I love what you have said about being fired up, being thankful, and accountability and helping our fellow man. Well done, okay. And very well said. And very much needed. It is needed in every town, every county, every state, and in our country.

Bubbah is right Okay - check your facts and remember as Irish said - as long as you are an American he is your president too.

I saw a stat that showed more young men died in Detroit last year then did in Iraq. When I find it I will post it.
As far as the WMD's maybe there weren't any, but do you not seee the good we are doing over there? Women were not allowed to go to school, were killed if they disobeyed their husbands and God forbid they wanted a divorce. And the children beaten if they were the born into a family of the wrong religion, forced into pre-arranged marriages, starved so that Saddam could have his palace. My brother just got back from Afghanstan a couple of months ago, and has confirmed that this behaviour also occurs there as well.
While George has not been the perfect president I ask anyone to show me one that has, they are all human, do we not all make mistakes? I understand your frustartion with our government, I am currently having to fight a legal battle against an illegal alien who is getting all of his legal counsel pro-bono. Do my senators care, not really, will they get my vote, NO.

Scott Ritter, UN weapons investigator reported that there absolutely were weapons there and that they had seen them leaving as the investigators were stalled by Iraqi guards, pre-Sadam ouster, and that the Missiles were Russian.

That's a UN rep telling the USA that there was a definite clear and present danger with ability to carry out threats. Sadam then began his bluster of threats, moved AA into the no fly zone again, and voila.

Since there were no air flights allowed out of Iraq, they had to be driven out, since there are mountains on the Iran Afghanistan side they had to be driven to a terrorist friendly Syria. That's where the sattelite images showed a convoy going to before the war even started. Then there were the buried chem factories. Then there were the "restricted access" inspections sites, and do you know why Kofi Anaan is no longer inspector general of the UN? Oil For Food Program subversion regarding Illegal French and Russian weapons traded for free oil. Did you forget he invaded Kuwait? What about Iran's nuke program?
Bordering Iraq:
Syria, terrorist sponsor with a stripmall of organizations, really,
Iran, once kidnapped American citizens and known terrorist sponsor,
Afghanistan, Once a known terrorist nation,
Turkey, bombs go of there too,
Jordan, supposedly neutral,
Saudi Arabia, need I say more,
Kuwait, bait country.
You can believe the media reports, (surely you know that is a bad idea) or you can dig for facts.

And another sobering fact is that more babies are killed through abortion than have been killed an all the wars put together. THAT is unacceptable.

Since you interjected such a "sobering fact" into the dialogue, Irish Oaks, please state the sobering statistics. Since we are encouraging Okay to check her facts, maintaining that she is "too good" to present erroneous information as fact, we must all play by the same rules.

A total of 857,475 legal induced abortions were reported to CDC for 2000, they did not start reporting abortions until 1969, thus this many MURDERS happened within a 31 year period!
Compared to deaths during major wars.
Deaths during:
WWII United States Military 405,400
WWI United States Military 116,708
Korea United States Military 36,516
Vietnam United States Military 58,217
First Gulf War United States Military 148
Iraq United States Military 4,000 as of March 2008
Afghanastan Unites States Military 468 as of June 28 2008
All the above info was retrieved from Wikipedi.com

Below is the link for the abortion rates.

Two words: GRASS ROOTS.

America has always been changed by the efforts of grass roots organizations. From the first stirrings of independence to now. In the later half of the 20th century (and up to now)though that ideal was lost somewhere.

Time to get back to American basics and become an activist for your beliefs, it IS the American way.

On another note, hello Irish, Fly, Bubbah, peace to you all.

By the way FlyMarines, you have to factor in the rather significant amount of "contractor" deaths also, though this number is unknown and might be unknowable.

Very true Expat, but even if the contractor deaths matched the death rates of the military, the abortion rate would still be larger then the deaths of all these wars combined.
On a side note, your opinion has been missed over at lets talk Memphis

Fly, Don't think I'll be returning there as the tone of the board has changed to something I no longer wish to participate in.

You are correct regarding the contractor deaths, but you have to factor those in which brings the numbers better in line with the other wars.

The OP said this:

"It took me to lose everything I work so hard for to help my fellow man. I had to program myself to look into myself and others and say, Tennessee needs to protect me better than this. You should be saying the same."

If you are reading this tyou are referring to an event, or events that as a reader I have no clue of.

It would help if you either removed the reference, or explained.

Oh hi ex-pat, do we miss you!!! Is this avatar a camera? Your words of wisdom are sorely an empty spot for my heart.

Your words here are also very true. Still, like flymarines said, the figures are not available before 1969. so that number is unknowable and uncountable. Also in war time, the possibility of death is one that is out there, whether by draft or volunteer.

Abortion is murder of an innocent. That child has no advocate to speak for him or her; no voice, no choice. He or she did not ask to be conceived to be a human being with a soul and body parts and feelings, but he or she became. As such he or she has every right to life as you or I.
Can you imagine that the very one person to find the absolute cure for the common cold, or the cure for all cancers, or the key to unlock the horrors of all mental illnesses has probably been killed by an abortionist with the "choice" of his mother who was inconvenienced with his pregnancy. Maybe he was one of the late-terms who was partially born, legs and arms just moving around, feeling the air when all of a sudden here is the piercing PAIN where the doctor stabs him in the base of his skull with something SHARP and starts twirling it around and around until he doesn't know anything until he sees Jesus. Then the doctor gets a suction tube and suctions out his brain and delivers the dead head. Then the dead body is thrown in the trash.
Our hope of the future lies like a piece of garbage on a big pile of pieces of other dead babies from the days' abortions.
So, but4grace, I think I am on safe ground when I made

Irish,
The avater is the "eye" from HAL who was the computer in the movie 2001.

Don't want to turn this into an abortion debate, but my thing is that it is a moral decision, I'd rather politics didn't intrude on those.

Which one of us integ?

Oh I remember that show ex-pat, just didn't recognize the eye. Do you remember who did the voice? I saw the movie at the old Crosstown Theatre, I think. If not there, then it was in Dyersburg. The very last movie I ever went to was in D'burg and was a Star Wars movie. Dates me, huh?

Even if you don't want to participate anymore, you could slip back over from time to time as an invisible and say Hi to harley and peb--- they really feel like they've lost a best friend as have I. But hey, I've got you babe!!

The tenor has changed. Things usually do. Ebb and flow. But you can count on this big mouth of the south, mean old mama, ex-pat. I'm the same old, same old, here, there, and every where. Just know you are fondly missed.

Okay is okay. She is really supporting Nikki. She is 100%. Have you heard she's got a book? Everytime I try to go to her site, I get an error message. Check back a few blogs of hers and you will see it.

Will be out of things for awhile. Heading to KY for a family reunion. Please check on elderly neighbors with this heat and when you are out shopping, check cars as you walk by for children or animals that might have been left in those cars. Drink plenty of water and stay cool.

I feel that we have given our elected leaders so much rope they are above the law and it shows. We must stop blaming them and look at ourselves as well.

Wow! Those numbers are staggering, FlyMarines! I have no words, other than... WOW!! As an aside, I do agree with ExPatNortherner, though, that the abortion debate is a MORAL one, rather than political. We tend to politicize every debate, trying to pound our positions into each other's heads. Unfortunately, in doing so we truly miss the HEART of the matter.

The rest of the year is for my dog Tootsie or Toots who passed away August 18,2008 at home. She was a stray that found us and we had 5 great years with her. She was an abused dog and if you ever came to the house, she would hobble (bark) as you would leave. She loved us and protected us. When my daughter left she had her own room and I find myself looking for her in that room which is across my bedroom Toots came into our lives when I was dealing with some heavy stuff and it seem that God brought us to comfort us and make sure we were together for the end of the journey. She got sick last year and was not the same. Old Toot is buried with our other family dogs in my sister's yard. She has a headstone to remind us that even if you are small, you can be a fighter. She taught me that. On a funny note, when you gave her something to eat and she was finish with it and wanted more, she would wait for you to ask her and then lick her lips... it was a trip because she understood what you were saying. I love you and miss you Tootise...you are free and healed
