We keep electing this jokers who tell us they can not do anything or help us. We elect them knowing they do little or nothing, holding crimes in criminal office during election... What is wrong with this picture?
We have to become prisoners in our home because they have no control over crime. We have to decide to eat or drive to work because they have no control over they way we live. They say we have to pay taxes on a budget they have no control. then it is not their fault but someone's else.
We elected a president who told us a lie of WMD only to have hundreds of our young men die every day and can not tell us when it ends.. It is not his fault we just have to wait. He lied and said it was over in days as he celebrated, knowing it was just the beginning.
We have become so program in believing that we can not change anything and accept what is within.
It was people like King, Garvey, and not just Blacks but white people who stood hand and hand, stood against bombings, riots, and lynchings so that we can enjoy what small peace we have today. Let's not take this for granted.
We have a mayor who's ideal is grandstanding to the media about his someone out to get me defense from the FBI. We have city council ( Hooks, Ford) who can not pay their own light bills as we are having a hard time paying
When I write about things I am not bitter but I am fired up. I have been lazy and the corruption came upon me. I am fighting not because I have lost something, it is to prevent others from doing the same. I am not going to be afraid and pray to God. one has to give.
I use to think that it could not happen to me if I take preventive measures. It is not so.
With this election if your family is not enduring anything then Be Thankful. But as you ask God for thanks, go outside and look at your neighbor's house and think, it could be him or the person up the street, the mailman, or even someone that on the next block. We need to expect accountability when we elect people in office who do little or nothing. We need to take into account the services that is for us if we ever need them.
It took me to lose everything I work so hard for to help my fellow man. I had to program myself to look into myself and others and say, Tennessee needs to protect me better than this. You should be saying the same.

Emily's list is a strong endorsement for a person running for office in Memphis. This endorsement was awarded to Nikki Tinker. Steve Cohen is upset and has use the ignorance of Wendi Thomas ( another person who can 't cut it anywhere else) to try to degrade Nikki
Okay, now if these same people would have endorse Cohen then he would have been proud to say it in his ads, yet, this is the first time Emily's List has endorse a candidate instead of the person in office.
Steve Cohen is treating this by using ignorant people to say that it is wrong for a Black person to be successful. for a Black woman to be 37 years old and the VP in the legal department of a Major Airline, how many Black woman can we name in Memphis?
It is sad that when a Black person is running for Office and the Media dig up dirt saying they have bad credit, late on their bills, and been the bankruptcy court that it is standard for a person. Instead, Cohen is using her intelligence, and upstanding in the community to play into the minds of Blacks.
Wendi and Thaddeus we are smarter than that, we are not buying into that. You down grade your own race. that is because Wendi could not cut it in another state and her friend is just a fat hot air. Neither one can not be trusted.
We need to expect higher standards,,,,,, it is time for a change. It's Tinker Time!
Update: I sent Wendi an long overdue email telling her that she could not cut it in another city and had to crawl back her. It must have ticked her off because I also added that she was jealous because Nikki is beautiful and have a drive other than just being at one spot. her reply was:

Yesterday while driving home from work I heard Steve Cohen's radio statement for re election for congress. this is where I have a problem with
Steve Cohen is exploiting Blacks in seeking return to the office. Yeah it is becoming a racial thing here. Why can't Cohen get on the radio himself and say what he has done since being in office. He can't because he hasn't. Jessie nor his son has seen anything that he can official place a claim in Memphis other than the Lottery and the so call grants for Children. Right now there is not Black Child that has benefited from this grant. Black Memphians look at your community and tell me What has this man done? He wants ou to relate that he is for a Black President. Hell, all the democratics are for Obama so what else is new.
Don't buy into it, he has done nothing for us and every election he pat our heads and give us a smile at the same time, giving us hopless dreams the is really working for Memphis. Don't fall for that

This is for all people who have really had hate for a long time. listen
I use to have an Aunt that was a wonderful person. I use to walk to her home to spend the night. She made the best spaghetti in the world. When we were little she use to tell my Grandmother that she hated her and to kiss her rump. That seed was planted and her children would tell her that they hated her.
As we got older my mom ( who was the youngest) would do things that made us so made. Yet, we never said we hated her and always fuss at her after she got out of the car and we were driving down the street. I would never dare to tell my mom to her face.
When my Granddaddy died and left me his home, she held a grudge that lasted over 30 years. No matter how I tried to mend, she would not give in. She stop going to family functions if we were there. Her ways with her mother never changed as she wished my Grandmother would hurry up and die because my Grandmother was dying and she said my Grandmother fussed at her. she was not in her right mind. Her Children made her out to be the victim of other's wrong doing. she was mad because she did not get Granddaddy's nor Grandmother's house. My other cousins had to beg her to attend her own mom's funeral and she was angry then. We were told that she had cancer for months and did not want my mom's side to know.
My mother cried because despite her only sister being that way, she continue to send her birthday and Christmas cards. My mom was told that her sister told a family member that she missed her sister and her nieces and wanted to see them only to find out that the oldest daughter said her mother said otherwise.
My mom is having a hard time with the fact that someone can take hate to the grave.
I had to explain that hate is a cancer and it grows. It takes all your will to keep it going. It makes you depress and blackens your soul.
Making peace with someone who refuses to forgive is a part of life. I can not cry, I only have compassion as if it was someone i did not know who is going through this. I try to reach out, but if their hand is not there, then I find peace to move on.

during the election time people want their city,state, or federal leader to come to events and get to know them. One thing I can say, one hour is not enough.
there was an event hosted this weekend a community person and all the Candidates showed up early and was there with the sweat, dust, and sun. Many I can tell you that I was a gritty mess from head to toe. Helping a Candidate I was not just out there by myself, I was with Nikki, her mom, and others getting gritty.
Steve Cohen camp was there and they had a set up across the street and came to the part. they had been there for a couple of hours and then suddenly Cohen appeared. He stayed there and shook come hands, got on a mic and then left. One hour.
Others stayed there all day shaking hands and meeting the other side of Memphis. What is one hour? with hundreds of people there and this city is crying, hurting, and seeking help one hour is not enough. I don't live in Midtown nor do I live in C. Gardens. I live in Memphis and I don't make a lot of money. Yet, what was one hour to the people of Westwood? I guess too much for him.
This year is a major corner for our Country and our City. My final statement is ......did you get any of that one hour?

the person that was beaten in the jail was very bless. why? because someone risked their job and life to make sure that video got out in the public and showed what Memphis Police always state, they can not confirmed an incident.
Back in the early 90's I was driving a 10 year old car and the clutch was going out. Now if you drive a 5 speed and then you know what I mean. My car was slow taking off and was not getting any speed because of the clutch. I was going down Southern and I had just cashed my 415 child support check and was dividing my money when I just so happen look up and there was this officer in front of me telling me to stop. God was with her because if my clutch was working I would have unknowingly ran over her.
She pulled me over and gave me a ticket for speeding. When I asked for her supervisor I was told to get out of the car and she arrested me. I was put in her car and she only searched the front where my money was. I asked her could I get my purse and she gave me that but claim she did not see any money in the front passenger seat.
to make sure that I had no claim my car was told. I had to scrape up money to get my car out and spent 4 hours in jail. I filed a complaint and when I went to court, the case was dismissed after I video my car and had a shop to verify my clutch was worn badly.
I stayed on that complain for two years and I never got my money back
If that tape was not there that Officer would have been doing the same thing. Has it come to the point that we need to keep a video recorder or a camera in the car to watch each other's back?
Sadly to this, it is bad that we have to be afraid of criminals, now the cops.

For anyone that has a son or daughter or just for themselves.
During the ending of the school year my daughter lost her direction. We had begun to argue and could not agree. I was the mother who was tired of and possible hated. We did not see eye to eye and I was getting tired. She started to hang around people that wanted to hang out with the "so called" new friends. I was worried and the first time in my life, I could not say anything to make things better.
When I started to work with the Tinker for Congress I met a lot of inspiring teens who have achieved all the things that I wanted my daughter to achieve. I was afraid to approach her because with meetings these people because I did not think she would listen. Then God did a wonder, her car transmission gave out! She went to stay with the people she called her friends and told me she didn't need me. I did not say anything because this was something God had to work out and I took my hands off. Within 3 months her pride was broken and the friends faded away. The taxi was not longer there and she was left with me, my sister taking her to work.
God put it in my heart to talk to the teens that were her age to meet her and they were more than happy. I then called my daughter and told her about the teens. She wanted to meet them and she did. Within days the vision that I saw for my daughter wast there. She was around people who wanted something in life and did not want to use her, but just be her friend. She has been to a few Tinker events and the lady that I wanted to raise is coming out.
In all Nikki, her mom, and Nikki's manager has embraced her and is mentoring her to the person that I pray that she would become. We are talking now about her future and she understand her role in becoming an adult. Nikki help me save my child and I know God put her there for a reason.
I boast about Nikki on my site all the time and now I really really know why. What I see in Nikki my daughter sees it too and wakes up every morning going to help out. Nothing was promise but hope and that is what she needed. We really need leaders like her, to give our girls and teens hope that has been lost. Give parents hope to see that a role model don't have to play ball, but go to school and make it when the odds are not in there favor. This is something that we need to remember comes election time

Thaddeus has posted some text on his site that he has received some threats on this life. this is coming from 201 poplar ( the jail) Are we to be surprised?
Thaddeus has posted and talked about people with his two sides. People that he once claimed to get corruption out of office. Recently, I am having Nikki Tinker come to my home and notice that many of the people I asked have placed ads with the same man that have told me in my face Thaddeus was a " snake". Mix signals and I am going to address each of them one by one in a email. Because that is not me.
One thing I can say is that I expect NOTHING FROM Ms. Tinker after the election. After this election I am not going to speak about things that are outside of the election. Why, because you don't use people position you have to boast your own. I would never do that and that is why I could not understand why he had to address who he was with which had nothing to do with the text.
To have a voice to stand up is a powerful tool. but Thaddeus has cross the lines many times. Then again, is this just a stunt for him to bring attention to himself. Neverless, if he is getting threats about him and his mother he needs to address how he present his so call " powerful" speaking.
As far as I go, I speak the truth and I don't put rumors or lies on people. I think that the article that he did with one of our bloggers ( Valarie ) was a mess and her name should not have been smeared by what he " alleges" her husband did.
I think the posting of one of the Lester Street shootings was a lowest of all humans to post before the family could view the body. He was on his site bragging about being with Steve Cohen's number #2 boy and getting his text. Is this a set up or for real?
I think the postings of the police officers on Shannon street and other officers are a disgrace. Some things are not meant to be viewed.
By the look on his phone, it was hard to tell that is was a text from him or someone. the photos on his site says that he has a very, very outdated cricket. I would think that he would had some money to at least update his phone. I have a phone that even if the phone is unnotice, the cell company can help me out.
In the end, Karma is something that we never want to come back to us. Maybe Thaddeus should have been thinking about that when he was trying to kiss and butcher people on the way to his so call big time status

June 21st it was time for you to get out your boogie shoes, the afro picks and the bell bottoms. Candidate Judge Floyd hosted a Disco fever at Brinson located at 341 Madison. Now I wanted my daughter to experience such a fundraiser and get to know the people that she one day will be electing into office.
What a night. dancing and just having a great time. In the 70's let just say that I was younger than I am now. I had on my disco shoes and boogie to it was time to go home.

History seems like it is repeating itself. Janis and Ophellia are acting the same. they were well until they got elected. Now the drinkng ( oops) I mean the medication is now kicking in. What is going on?
Janis has not been in office longer than a year and she is having issue with the driving to Tunica and their law enforcement. She must not think that it will not get back to Memphis.
I voted for Janis and now I am ready to rethink electing her back into office. She is bringing drama for yo' mama in city council. I wonder did I bring the wrong person into office?

We have two incidents involving two race of people involve.
Duntae was murdered by a white police officer
Duanna was attacked and beaten by two white officers.
First of all, regardless what he was dress like or goes by to call a person names that demeanor them is something we all can agree on, no one wants to be called a dirty name.
One happened in West Memphis and one happened in Memphis while each city is divided by a body of water and a bridge.
The verdict, Black men ( gay, straight, teens, and elderly) are becoming victims of White police officers abuse. We look at the video and see the officer using cuffs. Cuffs, while this person is sitting down. I am not going to try to figure out his gender because this is not the case. A person has be victimize by people who are sworn to uphold and protect the public interest. Today this morning on k-97 this ignorant Black man himself said that the different between this man and Rodney King is that King was not gay. He blamed the beating on the fact that this person is giving married me a death infection. BLEEP! Black America we need to grow up. This was still a person and he did not make anyone seek his services... Because of what this person is.... he deserved to be beaten. They bleed, hurt, cry, love and have feelings just like us.
Despite the fact that he is transexual, he did not warrant that officer committing that abuse. No abuse is justified. We as Blacks must remember it was not too long ago that our uncles, aunts, and families were having dogs attacks and water hoses put on them... for what? Just Being black. I am not God and it is not me to abuse someone because of what sex life they want to live . God put me on earth to love everyone, even those nut jobs that get on the radio that hate someone because they are gay, lesbian, or black.
The outrage that we had for the baby (Duntae) should be the same outrage for Duanna, this officer needs to be fired too.
I have always called some of the police bandits with badges for many conducts.. Today lets show people that Duanna is a person and did not deserve to be hit like that. Let demand that officer be fired too.

Recently I was at the post office mailing a letter and I notice that the downtown post office was named in Rev. Whalum's name. Not that I did not know I just notice the plaque. I started to think about the Federal Building being named after Ordell Horton. Okay this was done By Steve Cohen and then I remember the Lottery and the apology of the slave letter.
As Black American, yeah I said Black, what does the naming of a building will effect you when the Judiciary System is still bias towards us in many cases? Have our minds are still in the A watermelon in every home to get a vote? I would rather for Justice and fairness to be inside than for the Building to be named in honor of a Black man than racial injustice in being conducted inside.
I can say for sure that this election year is more important than any election in 10 years. we are making a milestone not just in history, but a new or better way of life than we have. Then we need to change our way of thinking. I am sure that the Horton family and the Whalum family is honored and they might be the only two Black families that really get justice in the named building. We need to think this election really carefully and with the mind of the future.
Again, this is not about race because I don't think that racism is a one race deal. We have today, Judges like Goldin, Evans. and Means-Henderson making sure that Blacks and minorities in Chancery Court walk out without a shirt, underwear, and rectum check before leaving the court. ( with court cost). Yet, our Congressman has the power to intervene when injustice in taken place in our courts. That is more greater than the naming of building.
Black people in Memphis is a Majority and we must think like a Majority. The Majority rights for all of us so once again, Memphis can be one city for all races to live

When Something bad happens it is often said that you must move on with your life. Many times it is something so hard or impact us the most that change us to a better person
John Walsh- If his son were never kidnapped and murdered we would not have the missing children agency and America Most wanted. Most important finger printing a child.
It was the missing and death of Amber Hangerman that created the Amber Alert that save the first Child through it's program, Rae Leigh.
It is the Mom of Laci Peterson, Sharon Rocha that made the law of Killing a pregnant mom a crime against the fetus as well.
It was Nicole Simpson that brought awareness to murder due to domestic violence.
Many times it is the making a difference or this should not happen again that better the lives of people that still are here. These people who have suffered the fate of someone made it safe for my children, my sisters, cousins, and other family members and myself in protecting our self from the criminals out there.
