Last night Arkansas was severely hit by tornados as I'm sure you all have heard.  A friend of mine lost her house.  Fortunately they didn't lose their lives.  Thankfully only a couple of people were hurt in Earle.  Unfortunately tho, 9 people have lost their lives in Arkansas.  Just wanted to stop for a moment and say that I'm thinking of every single one of you that was in the way of the storm yesterday.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

A lot of people will be without clothing and basic necessities.  Some friends and I got together last night and started bagging up unused clothing and shoes.  It won't cover everything but hopefully it will help them make it thru the next few days.  I have lived thru a massive tornado.  In the late 80's almost half of West Memphis was totally demolished.  I understand their need from first hand experience.

Please everyone, keep these people in your thoughts.  Pray that the looters stay away (I think Earle has already had some problems tho) and pray that people will come together to help fill the need.

Thanks Sonny. I hope your husband's uncle is okay. I'm just glad that no more were hurt. I know it hurts to lose everything but at least they are alive. Keep me updated on your uncle, okay?

PS - Let me make a correction on the blog, I mistakenly put 9 as the number killed when in fact it was 7. Apologies for the mistake.

Sian
What do the people from the storm need the most. Please let me know. They have our prayers but I am certain that tangible items are needed also

Sonny - I'm glad to hear that he's okay - I was out there today and I'm thankful that no one died as a result. I was at Heafer first and then went thru Earle. Thanks for the prayers honey, they are appreciated and I will pass them on.

55 - Thanks so much. I feel so bad for them. I'm sorry that you lost loved ones in a tornado - it's a shocking loss to lose someone to an act of nature. Dyersburg was bad - I remember it well. I remember the moment the tornado hit in West Memphis - I was working a second job at a local grocery store - we all walked outside (dummies that we were, lol) and watched it take out half of West Memphis. I really think we had a guardian angel that night because not one thing landed in the parking lot we were standing but completely took out the place across the street. Thanks friend, for your prayers they will be appreciated. :-)

Integrity - Right now what is needed most are basic necessities - clothing, shoes, toiletries, etc. Also non perishable food items, bottled water and so forth. I believe (from what I was told today) that local churches are taking in donations if you care to drop anything off. They were still out working on the lines this morning so I would imagine it won't be too long before all electricity is restored. But if you don't have a house to run electricity to.......:-(

Thank you Integrity. You are correct - as much as prayers are needed sometimes it's the more tangible things that help us make it thru the "night." And I truly appreciate your concern. :-)

Sianskye, the people in Earle, Arkansas are in my thoughts and prayers. I just can't see how someone would have the desire to steal after something as tragic like this happening. This is sad!

Foxy - I agree it's sad and it's unbelievable. Thanks for the concern - they certainly need it. Hopefully their lives will go back to normal soon.
