A father's relationship with his children is one that is irreplaceable. If you look at the world of sports, you see several examples of how fathers influenced their son's or daughter's career path. Dale Earnhardt Jr. followed in his dad's footsteps, becoming a Nascar driver. Laila Ali also went into the family business by stepping in the ring. Barry Bonds, the homerun king, is the son of major leaguer Bobby Bonds. But not all professional athletes have fathers who were sports super stars. Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods, two of the best athletes of all time, had super star dads who were not super star athletes. Their fathers just provided lots of love and encouragement. So, on Father's Day, I hope the dads out there take to heart how much of an impact they can have on their kid's life. You can help mold your child into something great with love, affection and by setting a good example.

Right on sister.

It really is as simple as that. Gettin' them early will make a world of difference. Even when a kid goes through his "rebellious teen" phase. The foundation of love, affection and firsthand knowledge of righteousness will be their conscience & self accusing spirit. Kids with "the basics" in, don't stray as far as those without. Love & affection is the cornerstone of esteem.

I'm from Missouri, so naturally I cheer for the St. Louis Cardinals. I'm also a Mizzou fan but I went to college at Mississippi State. Yes, I bleed Maroon and White! I love sports and love my job as a sports anchor/reporter. My favorite two athletes of all-time are Michael Jordan and Flo-Jo. I also enjoy eating. I grew up on a beef farm, so I'm very picky about my red meat!
