Would I have liked for him to stay for his senior season? Absolutely, he's a delight to cover and extremely enjoyable to watch, but let's be honest, Chris Douglas-Roberts needed to go pro. He needs to parlay an incredible season into a the fulfillment of a lifelong dream, and that's to play in the NBA.

Could "Buckets" have come back and put up some more big numbers for the Tigers? Sure he could, but I don't think his stock will ever be as high as it is now. There are no doubt question marks about CDR's ability to create and score at the next level, but I think he's a natural, and will be able to make an impact at that level. Most scouts like his game, but he's squarely a mid to late first rounder. The deal however is this...Coach John Calipari gives his players a blessing when their projected to be a first rounder, and CDR is.

I will spare you with the "If he comes back he could get injured talk" because that could happen Tomorrow night or Monday morning or whenever. I will also avoid the "Shouldn't he get his degree chat" because we know he can always get it later. Listen, this young man is going to be a millionaire and if he waits another season there are no guarentees because perhaps his game falls off a bit. This is why CDR must strike while the iron is hot.

Please let me know what you think?

I think you are right. What would you do in a similar situation? I think we all want or dream of a high paying job. College degrees are over rated (knowledge, information, hand skills, and technical knowledge are not). Yeah man. CDR SHOULD go and be an opportunist.

I hate to say it, but it was time for CDR to go. He has brought a lot of joy to Tiger fans the last 3 years. He will be remembered as being one of the greatest Tigers of all time. We will miss CDR, but good luck in the NBA.

I don't think anyone should leave college early. They are taking a free ride on someone. They getting all there college paid for, then they quit to go pro early. Most of them will never finish. CRONY ..a degrees NEVER EVER over rated. If these kids wont to waste everyone time and money let them pay for there own college...then they can stop whenever they want to. Take that money and give it to someone that really want to go to college and that will stay and get a degrees.

Arkguy, are you serious? If he is a millionaire he can pay for his own college degree, a few of them. I don't know all about his background like his home life but that kind of money can help his family. CDR will also be playing a sport he loves for a living. Maybe you are just a " hater." I have a Bachelor's of Science in Education degree from the U of M , and I feel that education is the best thing. However, in this situation you need to look a the whole picture. I work for the state and my check is extremely small and that is with a college degree. A degree is not a guarantee. With what I make it seems like it is just a nice piece of paper framed on the wall. Going to the NBA is such a slim to none chance compared to all the players out there that he should definately take this one in a lifetime opportunity. He is extremely talented and has mad b-ball skills. You seem to be one of those people who just think everything someone gets like a free scholarship, a free ride is coming out of your pockets. Stop being jealous because if you or your child, grandchild whatever was on the receiving end you would not feel that way. There are a lot of people that get scholarships for college that are not athletes that blow them when they get the little taste of freedom on a college campus. I have cousin who is smart as whip. She had a choice of schools to go to on scholarship. You know, a free ride. She earned it. However, after the first year she blew it. Partied too much and her grades went into the ground. So don't look at it that way. Would you say the same th

I'm 100% serious...2nite4u.. If you look back at all those player that make all that money...there are a lot that dont have a dime of it after they stop playing...By the way I'm NOT JEALOUS out of 3 nieces 2 of them got a scholarship that paid 100% and the other one got one that paid 75%...and yes 2nite4u they all had a 3.5 or higher when they finish college. What I said go for anyone that get a scholarship..NOT just ball players.

I still don't see what your big beef is about !!!! Get happy and celebrate for them. At least it was their money to do what they want to with it. With most ordinary jobs they will never see that kind of money ever! Who said most don't have a dime when theri career is over? Where did you get that from? That could be anyone. People with just regular jobs, teachers, lawyers, doctor's etc. if they don't manage their money right could be broke. These players if I'm not mistaken have brokers or agents that handle it and sometimes they are ripping them off. AGAIN, however, why does that upset you? Be happy they are making as you say " all that money." Maybe that is what you don't like. You can tell by the words you choose. This is what it seems you are implying: all those basketball players, making all that money just playing ball and it just ain't fair. I went to school and work and it just ain't fair. Have you seen the houses they live in and cars they drive? That would probably send you into a stroke. That is part of why we live and work, to have the finer things of life. Taking nice trips and staying in plush hotels. Some give to organizations and charities to help others. I am not mad at them at all. I do wish that money could be paid to education like that because education is very important. But it is not going to happen anytime soon. Be happy for someone else. It is hard enough out here. Don't hate!

I don't hate anyone 2intel4u...and I'm not jealous of anyone. I'm tickle pink that these guys or anyone can make that much money doing what they love to do. So YES I'm happy for them.
