Cindy McCain says she'll never release her tax returns. Is this who we want in the White House. Birds of a feather flock together.


WASHINGTON - Cindy McCain says she will never make her tax returns public even if her husband wins the White House and she becomes the first lady.

"You know, my husband and I have been married 28 years and we have filed separate tax returns for 28 years. This is a privacy issue. My husband is the candidate," Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting John McCain, said in an interview aired on NBC's "Today" on Thursday.

Asked if she would release her tax returns if she was first lady, Cindy McCain said: "No."

The Arizona senator released his tax return last month, reporting he had a total income of $405,409 in 2007 and paid $84,460 in federal income taxes. He files his return separately from his wife, an heiress to a Phoenix-based beer distributing company whose fortune is in the $100 million range.

Sen. McCain is routinely is ranked among the richest lawmakers in Congress, but he and his wife have kept their finances separate throughout their marriage. A prenuptial agreement left much of the family's assets in Cindy McCain's name.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean said Cindy McCain's refusal to release her tax returns gives the appearance of a double standard on the part of her husband.

"What is John McCain trying to hide?" Dean said in a statement. "Throughout this campaign, he has acted like his own calls for openness and accountability apply to everyone but himself. Now he thinks he can bring that same double standard to the White House."

Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton filed joint tax returns with their spouses and publicly released those returns.

What about the papers that the Clintons would not release from their library? Or Obamas refusal to release all of his senate records? They all have something to hide.

I agree with Cindy McCain in the fact it's nobody's business considering her husband is the candidate, not her. Besides, tax dishonesty is the least of our worries when it comes to running this country. I have more important concerns and questions for McCain, (the candidate, not the wife).

For one thing all people blog about is Obama and Hillary, I can careless about ALL them, Dem. or Rep. Yeah I even posted a blog or two about them so what??!

I have said twice that my vote will be my son's finger pushing a button. And why does it bother you so much on what I think about any of them?

That blog was about separating black and white , Now what I said, you think it was bad??, if so your wrong, because I don't think whites and blacks need to be pulled further apart.

And I see you have just signed onto Fox blogs so I guess you sat back and read all blogs before signing on?? HUM yeah right, you seem to know a bit much for a person to set back this long before blogging or posting a comment. And that comment I posted above about Obama's wife was back in April 14th.

Dang it has been a minute since I have blog and when I came to the site this blog caught my attention, I mean who really cares that she won't show her tax returns????? As already stated everyone knows she has stacks in the bank, so what???? She comes from a generation of hardworkers building the family wealth!

And as for you Ms. Sonnygll, how are you girl????????? Miss you much, and why is this person attacking you????? GEEEEEZ!

Sol, If they had had joint returns all along, it would be a moot point. It would be available. As it is, they had a prenup when they married. Their financial life is separate. Her family business has nothing to do with him. She has no dog in that fight and has every right to say no.

Now Sol, When it comes to hiding things, the Clintons just about top the list. They have their track record of shredding, hiding, forgetting under oath, etc. Those are facts. They have so many dead bodies littering their political trail, it is scary. When in the President of the United States office, Bill had one of his interns do the mouth nasty in the office and lie about it. No telling how much more. Again while in office, Hillary destroyed so much property in temper fits, ie: throwing lamps, dishes, etc. [in some instances, can't say I blame her, but nonetheless]. That was public property. Of course the Watergate, travelgate, sleeping in the White House for profit-gate, and on and on cheapening the office. No wonder they want to keep as much as they can from the public.
As far as Obama is concerned, he is not totally stupid. He has seen what the Clintons went through. He wants to keep what he can under wraps, too. Why do you think he did as much tap dancing around Jeremiah Wright as he did? First he tried the "old uncle" routine. When that didn't fly, he "didn't hear" the 20 years of hate whites and America. When that didn't work, he divorced himself from Wright. He will do whatever it takes to try to not stink. But he is nothing but an extremely liberal politician who craves power. The only "change" he has is for himself.
John McCain is no solid conservative. He is a RINO from the word go. But he did serve our country valantly in war time; was a POW; and has returned a victor. He does intend for America to remain strong militarily, which needs to

be. John McCain has nothing in hiding. It is all out there--all these years in public office. Yes, he has changed his mind on several occasions. But it is there for everyone to see. His wife's family business is just that. They had a prenup when they married--it was and is separate from their joint life and is no one else's business. She has never felt ashamed to be an American. She has never destroyed public property. She and her husband have not churched for 20 years in one whose pastor cursed God and America and blamed white America for creating AIDS to kill the blacks or had illicit sexual expliots to shame the nation. They have not had long term frienships with men who are known terrorists who remain unremorseful about bombing within this country, or those who rub comfortable shoulders with those terrorists outside this country. They represent moral, upstanding, decent behavior that one would demand of a country's leader and spouse.
