This country is headed for some serious troubles.  If all the jobs are taken to other countries how in the hell are we supposed to be able to buy anything here in this country.   What genius thought that I'll hire people over there and sell my products over here?  In the long run if the majority of jobs are over in other countries what jobs are left here?  I don't want to hear that lie about the people in the US don't want these jobs.  That is bull being fed to you and don't get full off of it.

I called Jackson Hewitt Tax service today to ask about my " stimulus check."  Guess who answered the phone?  I lady with a seriously different accent that I could tell that she did not quite understand everything I was saying.  Therefore after many questions were left unanswered I asked where have I called?  She hesitated and after asking the second time she said the PHILLIPINES(sp).  I was just livid at that point.  I have nothing against anyone person from other places or races, but to know that in the US we are in an economic crisis it pissed me off.  I noticed this years ago when I had AOL and customer service was in India.  I dropped them after I found that out.  I also now have a Cricket cellphone and customer service for them is also in the Phillipines.  Some of the call centers are here and some over there.  I am searching for another company.  Almost ALL of our food is coming from overseas.  HINT HINT, most of these places hate us.  Wonder where cancer is really coming from?  Could it be the things we eat or drink?  Hell, the enemy is feeding us.  You'd have to grow your own food to get away from that but by now the damage is probably done.  I've seen cancer kill young, old, skinny, fat, in shape or out of shape, all nationalities in this country.   However how are we going to make it like this?  The US does not make anything anymore. We've become a service industry country.  To get these services you must have a job to pay.  No job, no money, no service.  Soon it will be no job, no money, no food.  I work for the Dept. of Human Services and I see people all the time, some who want to work and some that don't.  I've seen a lot of layoffs lately as well.  The state is laying off 2000. people soon.  You know it is bad when the government has to layoff or ask people to take incentive packages and go home.

I feel that NAFTA and outsourcing is slowly but surely going to do us in.  This should have never happened.  Also can someone enlighten me on how the employees being paid overseas helps the US and paying taxes and into social security, etc.  All I can see is a big fat CEO or owner of these companies helping to slip the rope around our necks, have more  and more and more and more.   And by the way, bet this one will make you foam at the mouth.  The gas companies will report their profits and it will be somewhere around 600% !  After the first year when we went to war I remember CNN reporting and saying something like  Exxon having a 500 % increase in profits.  Aint that some S--T!!!!!

I graduated from the University of Memphis this past May 2007.  I started sending out my resume via email,  mail,  and personally delivered some as well.  I 've applied for several jobs hoping to start a career.  I am getting very discouraged.   I applied for jobs that did not quite meet my level of education or experience because other places had not called.  I am the type of person that follows up on my applications by calling.  Some places do not want you to call and some have a secretary or receptionist that seems to give you the run around because just maybe they are holding out for someone they know such as friend or relative.   I am so tired of the job search here in Memphis. One employer told me that they received more than 300 applications for the job and only 5 applications were pulled.  I then asked this person to email me and let me know the reasons why my application was not selected just because I want to know what I can do to improve.  A part of me also wants to know just to see what is going to be said because I applied for a job that did not actually require a degree even though I have one.  The job description stated a degree was "preferred."  I can't wait to see what feed back I receive.   After all this being said is there anyone out there that feels that in Memphis the job market is very big on WHO YOU KNOW?  I just believe you should hire the right person for the job and I know the competition may be great but I have applied for several and when I say several I can't even count anymore.   My past job references are tight and good as well as my resume and cover letters.  What am I doing wrong?  I'd appreciate your comments and thoughts if you feel my pain.

Well, well, well,  what is done in the dark will come to the light.  I call MLG&W often to ask about why my bill is soooo high even when I monitor my usage and thermostat and it is always the same old story.  They will send someone out to read the meter and of course MLG&W  always reads it right and it is my fault.  I pay my bill every month, as I also get those threatening cut-off notices. Then I go and make my payment.  I HAVE TO!!!  I have children and we like to see at night and appreciate heat when it is cold.  You understand, right?  Well I did not even know about an On Track program.  What is it?  As a single mom I don't know if I qualify or not, but it was never mentioned by any reps I've ever talked to when calling customer service.  However, Ford's business was on this program and was not supposed to be.

How is it that a business man, politician, councilman , not pay an MLG&W bill for THREE years?  SIXTEEN THOUSAND dollars?!!!!!!!!  That is some serious love.  For those of us who are just everyday average citizens working hard and paying these bills we deserve some explanations.  I am sure others get those cut-off notices and some people have been cut-off, and for a whole lote less.  I've gotten cut-off notices for under $300. If I must pay every month then how did he get away without paying for THREE years?  I am sure he or who ever owned the business had the money.  If not then close down the business.  I know years ago when I was struggling once from a job that went out,  MLG&W told me they understood but the bill still must be paid.  I think we should all ask MLG&W for a break in our next months bills and no more cut-off notices or cut offs for anyone.  What do you think they would say about that?  Seriously, I am going to call customer service just to entertain myself and see what kind of response I'll get.
